To understand why Grahamnesty withdrew his support for the climate bill, I think you have to look at two variables: (1) What the Democrats are up to (2) how this will affect his good friend and fellow RINO John McCain.

The Dem’s had 3 or 4 main goals they wanted to accomplish before the 2010 midterms: (1) ObamaCare; (2) Cap & Trade [aka Climate bill]; (3) Immigration Reform [Amnesty]; (4)Wall Street [Finance] Reform. Because ObamaCare took much longeer than anticipated, now they have to prioritize and rush their agenda — and the Dems KNOW they NEED those new voters — if not by the midterms (and a whole bunch in Congress REALLY want them by November) then at least by the next Presidential election in 2012. So, the Dems called Grahamnesty and broke it to him thusly: “Cap & Trade and the whole climate bill thing will just have to wait, Lady Lindsey — that’s just the way it is.”

Grahamnesty has hardly “seen the light,” so much as “felt the heat.” And the heat is mostly on his RINO pal John McCain, who is facing a tough primary challenge from the Right in J.D. Hayworth, and another challenge in the general election from the Left IF he survives into November. Grahamnesty knows that, if his brand of Moderarate, squishy, compromising, spineless, Republican is to survive to torment the American political system into the future, he has to withdraw his support for his usual causes — like Cap & Trade and Amnesty — at least until his bud John McCain is safely ensconsed back in the Senate and he sees who is reigning as Senate Majority Leader...And which side of the fence he’ll have to fall on before he faces re-election in SC in 2014...

Like someone said the other day, after the cloud of volcanic ash covered Europe:

“If you gave up your barbeque grille to save the planet from ‘global warming,’ you’ve got to be feeling pretty stupid right about now!”

The murder of an American Rancher in his State had a great impact on the changing of his (RINO) mind as well. The Rancher was a well known ans adored American who had been warning immigration in America was completely out of control!

How on Earth did South Carolina ever elect this clown?

Democrats voted for him. Primary and general.

I agree, but for me, it is way too little, way too late.

Anyone with 7 functioning brain cells could have seen that sort of event coming. Illegals have been killing folks all over the country.

Enough is enough!

I think somewhere along the line a FBI file appeared and we have we get with Graham now. He has been good on somethings but I believe someone has something on him because he has become really inconsistent on bills. But I also think the reason he has not been completely blackmailed on everything is he has some goods on someone else. I think it is some sort of a perverted type quid-pro-quo MAD type thing with several parties involved that keeps them all from going totally nuclear on each other and not drag all the skeletons out in the open because of the need for power to do certain deals and for certain goals to be obtained.

Or he could just be one of those progressives they believes in baby steps in continuing their quest for total government control so he is good on some issues then pushing for the radical agenda issues to forward the cause.

Or he is just crazy schizophrenic and does whatever the voices are telling to do at the time with no rhyme of reason.

Just my 3 theories on what could be going on here. :)

I’m beginning to think that this guy has some serious psychological problems. He has no central principals other than this posture will get me attention. He needs to be seen as very powerful, as in this instance where he wants to be seen as the guy who can make this happen or not. He loves to hear himself talk and talks at length, tending always toward the dramatic rather than the reasonable and sensible. Drama queen, needy of attention, self-aggrandizing. There is something wrong with him....

Wow! You seem surprised that you just described the typical politician at every level!!!

Even for the ones "we like" there has to be something seriously awry for someone to intentionally run for office.

The Sunday-talking head politico has a mental disorder by definition!

I will admit, only folks like us understand the connection of Graham/McCain. You’re probably right.

Sorry, but I don’t generalize to that extent. I happen to think that there are some really good people in the Republican Party...and some losers, of course.

We can only pray that Immigration Reform is dead before the midterms. If they ram it through Congress, we will all suffer the end of liberty & freedom in the USA. I firmly believe that this is the only major legislation that’s on the Obama Regime’s Agenda.
