Crews fail to cap well in oil spillage after rig blast [Gulf of Mexico]
Houston Chronicle ^ | 4-26-2010 | MONICA HATCHER

As the Deepwater Horizon's well continued to gush 42,000 gallons of oil a day into the Gulf of Mexico, response teams that were unable on Sunday to seal off the wellhead about a mile underwater turned their attention to containing the spill at its source.

Officials at BP, responsible for the environmental clean-up efforts as the rig's lease operator, said they were engineering a system to lower a dome-like structure over the well to capture the oil and funnel it to a collection tank on the surface.....

Efforts to staunch the flow were being complicated by the sheer depths at which remotely operated vehicles were being required to work. On Sunday morning, up to four of the robotic vehicles had descended to the wellhead and were attempting to pump fluids into a 450-ton blowout preventer to shut a valve that would close off the well, said Doug Suttles, BP's chief operating officer for exploration and production.

Should those efforts fail, Suttles said the company would file its final permits over the next 24 hours to begin drilling a “relief” well that will inject a heavy fluid to stem the flow.

A new rig is expected to arrive in the area about 40 miles off the Louisiana coast by Monday, but it will be at least two months before a new well could be drilled, he said.

BP is also now looking at a procedure that successfully captured oil leaks in the Gulf for platforms and rigs damaged during Hurricane Katrina by using a dome or cone-shaped structure to corral oil before it could make its way through the water. Suttles cautioned that the system had only been tried in shallow waters and may not be possible at 5,000 feet. ....

Do either of you have any current updates on the situation?

One would think there would be some mechanism on the sea floor to shut the well off. I know nothing about oil drilling...

There is. It failed to work. The ROVs are trying to make it work.

It is the 400 ton “Blowout Preventer” or BOP. You can Google them. It is a giant valve.

This doesn’t bode well for drilling off the midatlantic.

Thanks Thackney. Hope the idiot in the WH stands clear, and let’s BP do what they need to do, to keep this to a minimum.

Simple solution and I hope that works, but at that depth and pressure who knows how the Oil behaves.

when George Soros pays you to create an incident before November to head-off US domestic drilling, one had better do a proper job of it, I suppose...

Just like it does in shallow water. Oil is less dense that water, so it floats up. A submerged dome/conical cap should work just fine. The hard part is getting it into place. At that depth, I suspect they have to use robotic submersibles.

That was his plan along. Don’t forget the coal miners death also. Now how is that windmill farm doing?

Yes I understand but oil will take the easiest path if the capture structure in not firmly imbeded ,they pump up from the cone or pull from the top?

Let's see, the explosion on the rig Deepwater Horizon occurred at about 10 PM Tuesday April 20th 2010. Does this date ring any bells?

In addition to a bad oil spill, we might be seeing dark forces arrayed against mankind displaying their malevolence once more?

Several posters over the last week have made a good case for April 19th/20th being the most fateful and ominous date on our calender. The night of April 19th is particularly evil as it begins a 13 day period of blood scarifices to the 'Beast'

Not only are we talking about blood sacrifices, these sacrifices must come about by 'fiery confligration' just like the expolsion and fire aboard Deepwater Horizon

From Occult Holidays and Sabbats

April 19 - May 1 -- Blood Sacrifice To The Beast, a most critical 13-day period. Fire sacrifice is required on April 19.

personal aside (The Beast here must be considered satan himself, because examples taken from ancient sources openly name him by alias he has used in the past. The Holy Bible calls him by any number of titles when he sought to establish false religions dedicated to his worship. Today, the remaining predominant cult dedicated to the worship of the beast is islam. You can see that islam got it's murderous start on April 20th. Those false dieties are listed below)

April 19/20 is the first day of the 13-day Satanic ritual day relating to fire -- the fire god, Baal, or Molech/Nimrod (the Sun God), also known as the Roman god, Saturn (Satan/Devil). This day is a major human sacrifice day, demanding fire sacrifice with an emphasis on children. This day is one of the most important human sacrifice days, and as such, has had some very important historic events occur on this day.

Remember, the Illuminati considers war to be a most propitious way to sacrifice, for it kills both children and adults.

Some of the very important historic dates that were staged according to this blood sacrifice day are:

(1). April 19, 1775 -- Battle of Lexington & Concord, which made the Revolutionary War inevitable

(2). April 19, 1943 -- After trapping the last Jewish Resistance Fighters in a storm drain in Warsaw, and holding them for several days, Nazi Storm Troopers began to pour fire into each end of the storm drain, using flame-throwers. They continued pouring the fire into the drain until all fighters were dead. Blood sacrifice brought about by a fiery conflagration.

(3) April 19, 1993 -- 50 years later, to the day, government troops, tanks, and other military equipment stormed the compound of David Koresh and his followers at Waco, Texas. Certainly, this operation fulfilled the basic requirements for a human sacrifice: trauma, fire, and young sacrificial victims.

(4) April 19, 1995 -- Oklahoma City bombing -- Once again, many young children were killed this day

April 19/20 of any year in the 20th Century is a day of fearful contemplation, for it seems that, as we head into the final stretch of time, Satan is becoming more and more bold, and is using April 19 more often.

Both Adolph Schickelgrubber Hitler and islam's prophet mohammed were born on April 20th

"Yes I understand but oil will take the easiest path if the capture structure in not firmly imbeded ,they pump up from the cone or pull from the top?"

I doubt that the cone has to be all that imbedded. All it really has to do is take advantage of oil's natural bouyancy, and be tied down well enough that the oil's bouyance doesn't cause it to make like a "hot air balloon", and float away . But I suspect that they "assist" that by pumping up from the top of the cone, otherwise the cone might "fill up" with oil and "overflow" from the bottom.

Yes that sounds like a good approach to solving this.
