President Obama's strategy gets personal (is it too soon for him to panic?)
Politico ^ | 4/27/2010 | JONATHAN ALLEN & CAROL E. LEE

Mitch McConnell is in bed with Wall Street “movers and shakers” — and is fronting “cynical and deceptive” arguments on their behalf.

John Boehner is a health care Chicken Little to be mocked for predicting Armageddon if the Democrats’ reform bill passed.

Sarah Palin can be ignored on arms control because she’s “not exactly an expert on nuclear issues.”

And Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh are just a “troublesome” twosome spreading “vitriol.”

Democratic oppo research? Comments from Daily Kos?

No, this is your president speaking.

Once chastised for not being tough enough, President Barack Obama has lately been getting personal with his political adversaries — singling them out for scorn in speeches, interviews, asides and even in his weekly radio address.

(snip)

Republicans also depict Obama’s approach as a sign of weakness born of a loss of traction on the issues.

“Name-calling isn’t typically done from a position of strength,” McConnell spokesman Josh Holmes said.

Rather than just going after big groups of bad guys — insurance companies, lobbyists, the media — Obama has adopted a strategy that gives a face to the enemy.

Yes, it most certainly does have to do with the kind of paperwork one state can require from another state. If Hawaii says their COLB is proof of birth within their state, other states are Constitutionally obligated to give “full faith and credit” to that document.

U.S. Constitution:

Full faith and credit shall be given in each state to the public acts, records, and judicial proceedings of every other state. And the Congress may by general laws prescribe the manner in which such acts, records, and proceedings shall be proved, and the effect thereof.

This is the very old Alinsky tactic that the rats have been using for decades. Ken Starr, New Gingrich, Tom DeLay, Karl Rove, Sarah Palin... the rats pick one "face" and use relentless ridicule to make that face the "face of the Republican party". They tried it with Rush and it blew up in their stinking faces. It's not working even a little bit with Palin.

Ubanga and the rats can't seem to decide who the new "face" should be.

So: No agency of any state ever gets to require that someone born in Hawaii submit a certified copy of their original birth certificate for any purpose? Hawaii gets to unilaterally preclude that, and all states have to honor their refusal. Amazing.

Barry’s increasingly bizarre personal attacks on citizens validates that he’s dishonorable and of low character .
And an unmanly weakling.
He’s unraveling in public, in private he must be a real piece of work.
Reggie has his work cut out for him consoling and calming Barry with massages, scented candles and bubble baths.
The White House may be forced at some point ,
to excuse his inappropriate behavior by playing the sympathy card and blaming his mental disability-NPD.

This is where he's at, only 15 months into office.

That's why I continue to predict that, given the Republicans sweep the elections in the fall, he will resign.

He will not waNt to kowtow to a Republican Congress.

Can you even picture it? He's never heard the word NO before.

Though what does scare me is none of them are acting like that give a rat's behind about the elections.

One more thought, isn't Politico a left leaning site?

The Constitution often is.

If Hawaii says that their document is proof of birth within their state, then other states are obligated to give “full faith and credit” to that document.

You may perhaps notice that this is subject to the following “Congress may by general laws prescribe the manner in which such acts, records, and proceedings shall be proved, and the effect thereof”.

So no, another state cannot dictate to Hawaii what will constitute proof of birth within that state; but Congress can spell out what would be sufficient or insufficient to establish proof of birth (or any other issue)with any state document or proceedings that every state must give “full faith and credit” to.

Granting your argument about “full faith and credit,” are you quite certain that Hawaii makes no provision for providing a certified copy of the original birth certificate if one is specifically requested?

Completely irrelevant to the point, but yes; Hawaii says they do not issue the “long form” original, even if they have it.

They issue, for purposes of establishing birth within that state, a COLB computer printout from DOH, that Constitutionally, other states are obligated to give “full faith and credit” to.

And they refuse to cooperate even when asked for one? That’s really something.

....even if the Democrat controlled media is trying to smother the story....

At what point does the gap between what is reported in the media and reality become to large to contain?
