Bloomberg's aggressive stance against guns

Bloomberg's thinking about furthering his own ambitions in 2012, IMHO. He needs to keep the Bloombots happy.

As New York state goes further into the financial hole, so too will NY City, and the blame will go onto Bloomberg.
He’s an idiot with too much money for his own good, for the good of NY, and for the nation.

And he is a liar to boot. That should qualify him for the RINO/Demonrat ballot.

I am an owner of a number of guns and consider myself a staunch supporter of the 2nd amendment. I also like the idea of as many law abiding citizens carrying guns as possible. Here in Texas, we can carry our pistols in the car without a permit. I love that.

With that said, I have no problem whatsoever with requiring background checks on guns. You can say it is a slippery slope all you want, but I have already had to do a background check for every gun I have ever bought so what is the difference?

The only difference is that this lack of regulation is what gets more guns into criminals hands and hurts the cause of people like me who want to see more law abiding citizens carry guns.

That is what I believe, and I am no liberal. I think some people just have a gut reaction against any gun law, though I think the paranoia is warranted considering some of these disgraceful rulings by liberal judges in cases like Heller vs D.C. I welcome an NRA and gun advocacy groups that are on guard and watch these proposed laws very carefully.
