The LSM will just call it a “fringe” group of extremist racists.
That is a small sample of the total. Some polls have shown 28% of the population supports the movement to some degree. That is approaching 88,000,000
There are many more who sympathize or show up at rallies but haven’t signed their name anywhere.
Many of those are the TEAPARTIERS without jobs....
I’m one of them. Got the signs and the tee shirts to prove it!
This sounds like it is designed either to soothe the worrysome or show the supporters or sidelines that this movement is not as strong as they say. I contend that the tea party may or maynot show thier ture numbers BUT........... I asure you the support group behind this movement is massive!
Freepers were at a Offical Tea Party in Sacramento February 27th, 2009, before anyone was counting. God has Our Numbers and thats all that counts, He is the Score Keeper.
We need 10% OF OUR POPULATION AS Tea Party members in order t rach cru=itical mass. 3.6 million. We have a ways to go yet.But not far.
“Tea Party” is not just membership - it is also a mindset... Active Tea Party members may just be 2 million ... But the number who align their political leanings with the Tea Party mindset is enormous. I suggest that the Tea Party support base is 10 to 20 times 2 million and growing.
November 2, 2010!
What about all the TEA people who are but can’t get to rallies?
Got to be bazillions more.
It would be awesome if every one of them were to vote this year.
FREEPERS WERE TEA PARTIERS BEFORE THERE WAS A TEA PARTY!
Oh you KNOW its true!
For every Tea Partier who made it to a protest, there are probably ten (or more) who couldn’t make it.
And another million more who wished they could have been there. Had it been closer, almost everyone in our town would have attended.
Still, these are awesome numbers. Keep in mind that most of these Tea Parties are taking place on weekdays, because of the fixation with having them ON certain keystone days (9-12, Tax Day, July 4, etc.), so a lot of people who are sympathetic are working. I know that I didn’t go to any this year because of that issue, but I was definitely there in spirit.
I’m thinking that if the Tea Party groups have them on weekends that are NEARest to the keystone dates, they may get even greater numbers. I’m going to try to organise one here in my area for July 3, since the 4th is on a Sunday (which, among other things, wuld preclude me from participating in my own event). Having it on a Saturday will probably bring in greater crowds.
