Who’s to Blame When a Black Man Rapes a Woman?
Pajamas Media ^ | Apr 29 2010 | Melissa Clouthier

Posted on 04/30/2010 5:34:12 AM PDT by walford

...A criminal wouldn’t be a criminal if he were loved more and society supported him, therefore it’s society’s fault that he is committing the fill-in-the-blank crime.

So who is to blame, then, when a black man rapes a woman? Would it be the rapist? No.

What follows is the harrowing and cognitively dissonant account of a woman’s rape at the hands of a black man she considered a friend. Her name is Amanda Kijera and here is her story:

Two weeks ago, on a Monday morning, I started to write what I thought was a very clever editorial about violence against women in Haiti. The case, I believed, was being overstated by women’s organizations in need of additional resources. Ever committed to preserving the dignity of black men in a world which constantly stereotypes them as violent savages, I viewed this writing as yet one more opportunity to fight “the man” on behalf of my brothers. That night, before I could finish the piece, I was held on a rooftop in Haiti and raped repeatedly by one of the very men who I had spent the bulk of my life advocating for.

It hurt. The experience was almost more than I could bear. I begged him to stop. Afraid he would kill me, I pleaded with him to honor my commitment to Haiti, to him as a brother in the mutual struggle for an end to our common oppression, but to no avail. He didn’t care that I was a Malcolm X scholar. He told me to shut up, and then slapped me in the face. Overpowered, I gave up fighting halfway through the night.

She continues:

Truly, I have witnessed as a journalist and human rights advocate the many injustices inflicted upon black men in this world. The pain, trauma and rage born of exploitation are terrors that I have grappled with every day of my life. They make one want to strike back, to fight rabidly for what is left of their personal dignity in the wake of such things. Black men have every right to the anger they feel in response to their position in the global hierarchy, but their anger is misdirected.

Women are not the source of their oppression; oppressive policies and the as-yet unaddressed white patriarchy which still dominates the global stage are. Because women — and particularly women of color — are forced to bear the brunt of the black male response to the black male plight, the international community and those nations who have benefited from the oppression of colonized peoples have a responsibility to provide women with the protection that they need.

There's no facepalm pic that's strong enough for this imbecility. We need to go to level 2.

It’s the rapist’s fault. I am sick nigh unto death of criminals blaming everyone else. It’s not the policies of the government, economic conditions or not being held enough as a child; it’s making the CHOICE to commit a crime. This criminal needs to take RESPONSIBILITY for his actions.

Ugh! It’s too early for this level of stupidity. And on a Friday, no less.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Translation:

White men who live like paupers well into their 30s and 40s while they go school, get by on minimal hours of sleep while they study. Men who work minimum wage jobs while also going to school, who save, and stay out of debt. The white men who then enter their careers and work 70 hours a week producing the health and wealth that the world consumes, are faithful to their wives, and watch over and protect their children.

Yeah! ...Those oppressive and dominating patriarchy.

Reminds me of the liberal who told me she’d been mugged many times and that she blamed Reagan for cutting so many social programs driving the various muggers into a life of crime in order to support their families. She also said she felt kind of proud to have been able to help them “feed their families”.

Since it is not his fault she will be dropping any charges?

Let me say that I posted that “society is to blame” reasoning before I even read the first line.

I remember an old adage to the general effect that...

"Blaming someone else puts you in a prison and gives that other person the key."

"But the very act of accepting personal responsibility for a problem is an act of such bravery that fate hands you the key to your prison door."

"Furthermore, such act provides you with the clarity of mind and strength of spirit to not only unlock that door but to see all the other prison cells your cowardice has committed your spirit to and gives you the power to unlock ALL the doors."

Except when it’s a muslim, then it’s the woman’s fault

Is this for real? If this woman would rather make excuses for the black man who violently raped her, rather than muster up any kind of outrage, I shudder to think of the violence toward others she would consider justified in the name of “social justice”.

“I am sick nigh unto death of criminals blaming everyone else.”

And in this case, it’s the VICTIM not holding the perp accountable.

“He didn’t care that I was a Malcolm X scholar.”

All he cared about is that you were a warm place to put it!! Don’t you freaking get it? He wasn’t expressing his frustration at being a victim! Clinton is a rapist. Is he a victim also?

NO! A rapist is a sociopath who views other human beings as something to exploit for their own gratification and make themselves feel powerful. It’s a hate crime in the truest sense of the word.

The perp and the perp alone is responsible.

Another fruitcake “liberal” that excuses everything except Americans or white men.

Remember Robert Fisk beaten up by Muslims and still blaming America?

These people are insane. Leftist politics before reality. Always.

I wasn't implying you hadn't searched.
I was just supplying a link for those interested.
I probably should have removed you from the "To:" so as to avoid the implication. Sorry.
