The conventional wisdom is that the Obama regime will use the opportunity of the mine disaster and the oil rig blow out to really ratchet up their attacks against these energy sources. Maybe so. But here is an alternate scenario.
If the regime cracks down too hard, and energy prices take a huge spike up, this will not benefit their party. With the primaries coming up soon, and the election close behind, any huge increase in energy prices will count dearly against the Jerkocrats on election day.
They already added another off-shore oil drilling ban - even for areas previously open.
Yeah I know. Although no one seriously believes they ever intended to allow more off shore drilling anyway. To them, this is just one more happy excuse to enforce their anti energy agenda.
I abhor high gas prices. The only bright spot is if it will cost the asshats a LOT of political seats.
I’m thinking the Chevy Volt and Nissan Leaf are looking better every day.

The House passed on Thursday night the Puerto Rico Democracy Act (H.R. 2499). This would mandate the U.S. territory to vote on its status with the United States.
The bill, though, is created in favor of the island becoming the 51st state. Every eight years, a plebiscite on the issue of the territory’s status would be held for Puerto Ricans living on the island and for non resident Puerto Ricans living in the United States to vote on. This will happen until statehood is finally achieved for Puerto Rico.
