NEW YORK-- A suicidal college student who carried highly toxic sodium cyanide into a subway tunnel caused a brief terrorism scare early Friday, police said.

Track workers spotted the 20-year-old man -- wearing a hard hat, safety vest and boots -- at about 5:30 a.m. wandering deep inside the tunnel under the East River.

The workers pulled him aboard a train and took him to a lower Manhattan subway station. Police there discovered he was carrying a backpack holding a quart container full of sodium cyanide pellets, five highway flares and two bottles of water.

OMG, when are they going to stop lying to us.

There is no hope for the city with Bloomers in charge.

Bloomberg doesn’ have enough problems? He is still inviting illegals to come to New York & get ‘Hellth care” there.

Wonder how the taxpayers feel about that? They are already taxed enough in New York.

New York Police Department spokesman Paul Browne said investigators quickly ruled out the possibility the man could be a terrorist. He said the man instead convinced police that his plan was to kill himself in an isolated spot by swallowing the chemicals.

Nonsense ! It was ONE QUART of Sodium Cyanide, no one (1) ounce. This was terrorism. What was the name of the perp and what affiliations does he have ?

If it turns out that the student is named Mohammad, it won’t change the news coverage. They lie to us and they don’t care that we know it.

Police speculated the man may have considered using the flares to heat up the chemicals and inhaling the fumes.

Yeah, there is no way he might have put it in the air ducts and poisoned hundreds of people. How many people could a Quart of Sodium cyanide kill?

It’s not like there are less complicated ways to kill yourself in a subway.

Oh wait ... nevermind.

OK , heres my speculation ... sure the flares are a good heat source ,, but wouldn’t a train stop if there were flares in it’s path and a “worker” in an orange safety vest ... how many people on the train would have died inhaling cyanide waiting for the track to clear?

He chose the subway for the same reason the 1993 Tokyo Subway group AumShinRiKyou did; the airspace is MUCH more confined, radically upgrading the lethality of the chem agent; it doesn’t disperse, and plenty of people pass through the lethal zone, since it is confined.

This was CLEARLY a terror-intended event; very likely he is a muzzie.

As a point of interest:

In Boston last night a train had to stop in a tunnel for a fire of unknown origin. Twenty people were hospitalized for smoke inhalation. The system was shut down while 75 firefighters responded to the mysterious electrical fire.

Accidents happen. The Boston incident is probably an accident.

I'm just saying it's odd.

His name is Aaron Fetto, 20, of Manhattan.

Does the cost of the cyanide come into play here with that quantity?

We’ll it is confusing. Normally these terrorist murderers wear suicide vests.

This is a suicide backpack. It’s different.
