NEW YORK -- Police investigating a terror attack that could have set off a deadly fireball in Times Square focused Sunday on finding a man who was videotaped shedding his shirt near the SUV where the bomb was found.
Police said the gasoline-and-propane bomb was crude but could have sprayed shrapnel and metal parts with enough force to kill pedestrians and knock out windows on one of America's busiest streets, full of Broadway theaters and restaurants on a Saturday night.
The bomb "looks like it would have caused a significant fireball" had it fully detonated, police Commissioner Ray Kelly said.

...they probably have a few hundred cams to go through, and I’m sure the have actual video’s on the creep....but it has to be “scrubbed” for US Citizen consumption. .....fixed to fit the media’s prescription of what sort of bomber they want...

Maybe they can see more if they enhance it in some video editing program, but I can barely even see how they can determine the guy’s color. He appears to have a backpack that he is leaning against a post in the middle of the sidewalk. Did the people who saw him run off mention a backpack, I wonder? Also, why no descriptions from them?
Doubt they can do much with that pic at all.
I watched the video at the NY Post website, and the guy didn’t look particularly suspicious, unless they have some other description of him. He walks along, carrying a knapsack in his hand, leans it against a post in the middle of the street, takes off his shirt and sticks it in the knapsack and goes on his way. He didn’t look particularly “furtive,” and the street was a busy one with lots of people walking by. So if they think this is the guy, they must have some additional description that makes them suspect him.

The Iranians I’ve talked to don’t like Arabs at all.
