This link
http://www.mediafly.com/Podcasts/Feeds/The_Michael_Savage_Show_Podcast
allows you to download MP3s to your harddrive or to your mp3 player.

The site has a huge backlog of past shows. They run without commercials for about 110 minutes each.

Most days the complete show becomes available at about 7PM PST. Today’s show appears to be an exception in that it’s not up yet.

Did you know that the SUV bomb was parked in front of the Viacom building? Viacom, of course, is the parent company of Comedy Central, the network that airs “South Park.”

Oops. I didn’t mean to imply that you NEED an mp3 player. You DO NOT need an mp3 player.

The download should play on your computer’s default player. In the odd instance it doesn’t, there are players that you can find on the internet for free download.

It’s a shame that Savage doesn’t work on his credibility a little to really get the message out.

It’s a shame that Savage doesn’t work on his credibility a little to really get the message out.
I swear Chief, both William and I have long found it odd that Savage would continue to speak factual errors, let alone go out of his way to behave boorishly.

His boorish behavior could be part of his persona, as only close associates would know. However, he's far too smart to be making the factual errors he makes, such as constantly mis-attributing Ruby Ridge to Bill Clinton instead of GHWB, or repeatedly asking his producer Beowulf for the same recollection over and over again. Could that be deliberate? Why? And what hoary implications other than concluding he's stupid, do you feel compelled to disallow?

Did you ever write a letter to the editor of your local rag only to see a similar stance published, but it was much more ill-written than yours?

Did you ever watch "All In the Family" and see the ignorant and bigotted Archy Bunker malaprop a conservative principle?

The Left wing rag WANTS to discredit the conservative position, so it doesn't take a rocker scientist to guess which letter advances their agenda.

Norman Lear, founder of the extreme Left-wing "People for the American Way," could have made Leftism repellent by having Bunker behave like a Leftist troll, but instead chose to repel TV viewers from conservative thought by making him a right-winger. In fact, one could foresee where a Breitbart hires a Klavan to write a Left-wing Archy Bunker broadband show, All In My Circle, centered upon a character similar to Bill Maher.

1a) Although MSNBC makes Orwell's Ministry of Truth look sane by comparison, NO OTHER commercial outlet makes that observation let alone condemn MSNBC for it.

1b) Only talk radio hosts dare speak of it, and a good number of them soft pedal the comparison rather than engage in talk of extremists. (Savage is most active here, and could be more credible at it, were he to stick it to the Left-wingers and stop bashing not-so right-wingers.)

2) Broadcasting is a federally licensed access. Aside from huge licensing fees, what other forms of "payment" must a broadcaster demonstrate before being granted access? What unwritten laws are being obeyed?

In other words Chief, too much credibility may win your credibility battle, but lose your access war.

I agree. IMO..

I think that Savage would have shared "Number One" status with Rush if he could control his schoolboy outbursts like the other day he called Rush a fat pig.

My point is not that it would help Savage's credibility but that it would strengthen the conservatives' efforts like you said "to really get the message out."--

that is what I thought all this was about it ain't about personal aggrandizement vis-a-vis fellow conservatives.

Savage's constant attacks on Hannity for being a dumb blue-collar worker doesn't help either -- though someone must have finally! gotten to Savage to cool it. Tuesday he tried to clarify that not all blue-collar workers are stupid.

But his courage is unchallengeable thus his foibles somewhat pale.

.. besides I share the numbers of his 170 IQ -- hey! two out of three ain't bad.

One thing I have to admit, though: on All In The Family, the very liberal Meathead generally came across as as big a fool as Archie and a freeloader as well.

That's some excellent points. Thanks.

The enemies of the modern conservative movement want to destroy it and Savage is sometimes an easy, welcomed target -- though often they have to twist facts a bit.

I certainly remember the 1960s and the efforts to blame the modern conservative movement's criticism of JFK for the actions of Oswald. That encouraged the Left's use of "Fairness Doctrine" complaints to silence a whole generation. Newspapers were disappearing and TV networks became the prime "news" source.

Though I never heard his very popular syndicated radio show Joe Pyne was kicked off the air. I knew him by his TV show that later aired in Cincinnati for a few months. He was "Savage."

I tend to think that Savage is such a gifted broadcast personality that he can do it with minimal show prep. That explains the occasional miscues (bound to happen, he talks live ten hours a week) -- plus, and the most annoying to me, his taking credit for ideas and phrases others have already spoken. He's very good at it but so are a few others.

That explains the occasional miscues.

But it doesn't explain the repetition of such miscues. What explains it best is that it is a form of code.

"Think outside the box dear listeners.
You know very well, unlike so many others who are afraid to admit that they listen to me, that I demonstrate how intelligent I am in very many ways.
I frequently am revealing facts to you (e.g. Dubai Ports) and help you form opinions (the tyranny of the govt-media complex) before others dare do so.
I interview experts in many fields that clearly are not afraid to associate with me and yet they still survive.
And many more supply me info off the record so that you can benefit by their trust in me.

When you hear a prisoner of war utter words you have reason to doubt are his own, you quickly understand. You hear me rant nearly everyday, and yet I do not utter words that would get my affiliates fined heavily. I always stop short of uttering such words, and I do it with a bit of a flair, like to emphasize what I've just done. When I repeat an error that does not match my scholarship -- not a miscue that anybody can make who speaks professionally -- you don't need to think too far outside the box to understand that something else besides the errant words are being transmitted.

That's all I would say about that if I could say it."

"before others dare do so."

RE: Dubai Ports

CoastToCoastAM's George Norry also takes credit for stopping the port deal. He made a lot of noise about it and later claimed credit for stopping it.

RE: govt-media complex

Yes, Savage used that term and spoke of the problem years ago -- at the same time comedy writer Norman Liebmann, www.firehat.com, noted that the Clinton White House daily press briefings were reporter obedience training sessions. Some have written about how JFK/LBJ liberals used the "Fairness Doctrine" to control opposition. James "Scotty" Reston (New York Times) was a close friend of JFK's and he was one of the leaders of the "blame conservative hate and violence for JFK's assassination" b.s.

Many have noted the problem. I do not understand why Savage says he needs the subterfuge.

Local talk show hosts like Geoff Metcalf, Lee Rodgers, and other fellow hosts of Savage's original station, KSFO, went just as far -- and further in touchy areas such as Ruby Ridge, Waco, and OKC. Even Art Bell was all over those three -- I remember one of Bell's guests advocating marching on Washington with guns and hanging Congressmen. (I think that was her last appearance but she was not cut off at the time, the show continued on to the end.) Bell also raised a lot of noise against the Clintons' attacks on the Second Amendment -- an equally touchy subject.

I am missing something (very likely) or Savage needs to do a little research. Savage was no a "team player" at KSFO often taking full credit for KSFO's success. Wrong, but I listened to every minute anyway and continued to do so until he started attacking conservative competitor radio hosts and authors. Now anything like "Rush is a fat pig," "Laura Ingrahan is a transgender with a cross" sends me over to Levin's show.
