Which regulation are they proposing to amend? That part is missing on these pdf scans.
I’m not buying any of this. The poster only signed up today and has yet to defend a word of his very first thread. DYngbld implies that this “amendment” is a year or two old.
The posting stinks.
but I wouldnt bet my life on it.
From an April 16 article from Dallas:
Gates ordered that the new comprehensive weapons policy be developed to cover all branches of the military and its bases and offices.
The new policy is expected to mirror restrictions already in place at some military installations that, for example, require guns brought onto a base to be registered with military police.
The summary said that the Pentagon review recommended 79 changes in its procedures, but only disclosed the 26 Gates had acted on. The remaining 53 will be acted on by June, the Pentagon said.
I am skeptical, too, but that Snopes article has to do with a company commander’s policy at Fort Campbell. The proposed amendment to a mystery regulation is telling installation senior commanders what to do, so it is (theoretically) a regulation that’s probably at the Army level or higher.
“The military would be better off and safer if they registered all muslims”
And make them wear licenses on collars.
There is a requirement to register your weapons if you live in off base military housing, but not in a private residence.
A few months back the Dem mayor of Memphis made a statement which made my ears perk up real fast....gun crime is a medical health issue! Could gun control come under obamacare?
Substantiating the source is REQUIRED. Until that, it’s worthless.
I definitely agree with that!
“If that refers to the requirement to register weapons stored in on-base housing, that requirement has always been in place. “
You are correct. It has been that way since at least the mid 1970’s when I was in the Navy.
***Force*** all military personnel to register all firearms.
I’m here to register my firearm wait for flash.

Ive replied to a couple of different people on this posting of mine (including you) but they arent showing up. I dont know if I have to wait for approval on them since I am a new member but I havent ignored this thread.
Would you be kind enough to post a comment telling everyone that I am trying to respond but none of my comments have been posted yet? I mean you all are so quick to attack, especially on a post so new.
Then the federal government would take the military to the courts and that would be a coin flip.
Goodness gracious! I only posted it 30 minutes ago. Sheesh. The article clearly states that the document came from a member of the military. He probably doesn’t want anyone to know who he is.
The amendment was originally just a proposal but is now being drafted into the code.
A reading of the article and not just the document brings it all into context. Even the excerpt I posted makes it clear:
“such regulations could be used as a precedent for civilian infringements as well. “If this arms law is good enough for the military. ””
At that point, if the court decided against the military, the military would have to make a choice. Stand with the President or against him.
That said...I hope you have thick skin.
That said...most FReepers want to be sure of the truth. You know...."Trust but Verify".
Generally most of us...don't run off half-cocked and crying chicken little.
You do have some questions that need answers....
Thanks again!!
Now THAT would be worth seeing.
