Obama Begins Covert Attack on Second Amendment
American Vision ^ | 05-05-2010 | Joel McDurmon

Obama has apparently taken a step to disarm America, according to a document that has been leaked. The step is strategic and very cunning: begin with the military.

The document reveals a proposal to force all military personnel to register all firearms—even privately owned firearms that are kept in their private residences. It would force a regular inventory of all such firearms concurrent with the regular inventories of military weapons.

...the fear is that once enacted, such regulations could be used as a precedent for civilian infringements as well. "If this arms law is good enough for the military.…" Let’s stop them before they have the precedent.

This needs to be STOPPED.

The government has no business knowing what firearms people do or do not possess -- military or not.

STOPPED.

Welcome to FreeRepublic

IIRC this "memo" is over a year or two old, and was incorrectly worded, then was dismissed.

Was there something new put out?

The military would be better off and safer if they registered all muslims.

NY police chief: bomb suspect bought gun in Conn.

(AP) – 58 minutes ago

WASHINGTON — New York’s police commissioner says Times Square bomb suspect Faisal Shahzad purchased a gun in Connecticut in March.

Commissioner Raymond Kelly told a Senate hearing Wednesday that Shahzad took the gun with him when he drove to the airport to board a flight to Dubai.

Kelly and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg told the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee that they support legislation to make it more difficult for suspected terrorists to buy guns.

Investigators have said a gun was discovered in the car Shahzad left at the airport.

How are they going to do that? The military can not just ignore an order or can they?

Our people in the military have put their lives on the line for America and their spouse and kids suffer the loss of regular time with mom or dad due to multiple deployments.

The thanks Omama has for them is to put them through the indignity of firearms registration and monitoring. I trust them with private firearms ownership, but Omama does not. Plus, it is a likely dry run for firearms registration for all of us, he can point to an existing data base and say it “works”.

If that refers to the requirement to register weapons stored in on-base housing, that requirement has always been in place.

If the order is illegal, yes they can ignore it and refuse to follow the order. They just have to make up their minds what they want for this country.

This law, if true, would be the first step in gun registration for the USA. But it sounds par for the Obama administration.
