You all missed this one. Obey is retiring for one reason, and one reason only.
Do you all realize that Obey's son's organization received $2B+ from last year's Porkulus bill?
The only reason Obey is quitting is that he now has a nice little "nut" of tax-payer money and is going to retire in style with his pension and his son shuffling some cash under the table to him.

Craig Obey is David Obey's son.
I am shocked, shocked I tell you!
Good catch, I haven’t seen this out there.
No, scratch that. Alert the Levin, Hannity, and Limbaugh!
I don’t think so.
I think he knows the Democrats are going to lose the house and he will lose his position. Maybe not his seat, but his position in the house, and he just can’t handle that idea.
I didn’t miss jack, Jack!
After 21 terms in the Congressional District of Wisconsin, I understand he gets like $295,000 a year in government retirement pensions and perks, not to mention other lucrative government benefits.
You all missed this one.
I don't know about that ... LOL ... there were so many of these articles out there on Free Republic, that the Admin Moderator was "locking" them ... :-)
You obviously didn't read past the headline here.
Already done.
2 B? If ever a new house needed a reason to claw back some tax payer dollars..
It makes one sick
It appears that Obey’s son is a lobbyist - I couldn’t find anything about HIS organization. Does he have his own ORGANIZATION and if so, what is it?
We probably will never see Obey in the 7th district again.
Both Obey and his son belong in prison for their crimes against the American people.
Not some personal organization....
That said, I wonder what his "cut" was?
