Louise Lessard has dreams at night in which she can walk effortlessly again. Gone are the cane, wheelchair and walker that have become her real-life companions.

The former kindergarten teaching assistant began falling down and struggling to walk in 1999, and within four years, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Wednesday, Ms. Lessard rolled up in a wheelchair in a suburban park in Montreal to press for what she sees as her only hope at a better life.

It sounds promising but it is too early to run out and have a surgical procedure done.

At the same time there are other very promising alternatives like Tysabri that are available.

It took 4 years to get a diagnosis?

Was she even trying to get one?

MS is very difficult to diagnose, even here in the US.

4 years to get a diagnosis?

Political rallies to beg for medical treatment?

No wonder Obama and the democrats in Washington legally exempted themselves from ObamaCare.

Early diagnosis and treatment is very important for managing this disease. I was very lucky. My GP sent me to a neurologist immediately after hearing my symptoms. After a series of tests I was diagnosed with MS and put on treatment, That was ten-years ago and I haven’t had a relapse since.

Under a regular Blue Cross plan through work, I got the best treatment available anywhere in the world! My medical care and medication haven’t cost the taxpayer a cent.

This would not have been the case under 0-care; I would probably be in a wheelchair by now.
