However they do think he will eventually be suspended here.

And who might 'they' be? You and your dimwitted Lost Cause buddies?

The author states Polk is the first natural born citizen elected President. Both of Polks parents were born in the US. One of Obama’s parents was born in Africa.

Obama is not a natural born citizen.

The Constitution is clear. Obama was born in the United States so he is a natural born citizen.

LoL!

Do you watch CNN or MSNBC? Try doing a little research before making such a definative statement or put on your flame suit and standby to be educated.

Non sequitur should be banned just because he doesn't happen to agree with you on an issue?
And you have the temerity to call yourself a conservative, cite the Constitution, and dare use the champion of free thought, Thomas Jefferson, in your tag line?

Corwin, Edward S. (1878-1963) third McCormick Professor of Jurisprudence and first chairman of the Department of Politics, was considered the leading expositor of the intent and meaning of the Constitution.

Corwin’s influence eventually extended beyond the campus to the federal government, which he served in 1935 as an adviser to the Public Works Administration, and in 1936 and 1937 as a special assistant and consultant to the attorney general on constitutional issues.

Generally recognized as the most learned and discriminating of all our modern constitutional authorities, Corwin was a scholar’s scholar.

Historians, political scientists, and legal practitioners join in proclaiming his preeminence.

The law itself reflects his own pointed dictum: `If judges make law, so do commentators.’ Corwin is in the great tradition of Cooley and Kent.

His contributions are sources of learning and understanding — hallmarks to emulate and revere.’’

As editor of the Library of Congress’s legislative reference division, he directed a research project that resulted in a massive volume, The Constitution Annotated: Analysis and Interpretation.

In fact, in 1775, George Washington was toasting the King of England every evening at dinner.

I toast KIng Obama every morning just before I flush.

It's not even correct. Anyone born after the Articles of Confederation would be a natural born citizen of the United States. Arguably the same would be true of anyone born in the US after July 4, 1776, when the 13 United States of America, declared themselves independent of the United Kingdom. But it doesn't matter which one chooses. Two Presidents were born between the articles of confederation being ratified (all states) (March 1, 1781), and the ratification of the Constitution (9 states) (June 21, 1788). Martin Van Buren born December 5, 1782, and Zachary Taylor born November 24, 1784. None were born after the declaration and before the AoC were ratified.

They were *both* natural born citizens and citizens at the time of the adoption of the Constitution.

James Polk was the first President born after the adoption of the Constitution, so the first to *only* be a Natural born citizen, and not one at the time of adoption of the Constitution.

But perhaps that's only of academic interest, since Van Buren and Taylor were eligible, whether one counts them as natural born or not.

All the previous presidents were born before April 30, 1789, the date of General Washington’s inauguration as the first President of the United States. They were therefore born before there was a United States, although they were born in America.

There was a United States before the adoption of the Constitution.

From the Articles of Confederation:

Preamble To all to whom these Presents shall come, we the undersigned Delegates of the States affixed to our Names send greeting.

Articles of Confederation and perpetual Union between the States of New Hampshire, Massachusetts bay, Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.

Article I. The Stile of this Confederacy shall be "The United States of America."

It was one country, albeit with a not very practicable form of government.

We really do not know the definition of natural born citizen.

Perhaps this author defines the term when he states Polk is the first natural born citizen elected President.

Polks parents were born in the Unites States.

Polk was born in the United States.

So you're claiming that it isn't Saturday morning in India? Damn you're dumb.

In India, the standard full-time working week begins on Monday and ends on Saturday with half a day, making it a 5 1/2-day work week, 40–48 hours per week. The weekend is Sunday.

Van Buren was born in 1782 so he was qualified to be president for the same reason Washington and Jefferson and Jackson were - citizen of the U.S. at the time the Constitution was ratified.

And he was a natural born citizen of the United States. He was doubly eligible you might say.

There is nothing about the circumstance of his birth or his parentage that would put his being a natural born citizen in doubt. There have been no Presidents in doubt as far as eligible citizenship status with the exception of Chester A. Arthur, who went to great lengths to conceal his father’s lack of naturalized citizenhip at the time of his birth, and Barack Hussein Obama, II, who has a whole ‘nother set of smoke and mirrors going on, to keep focus on the giant game of “Where’s Waldo” over a piece of paper, when in fact he has the same problem that Arthur went to such lengths to obscure.

If Obama was born in Kenya, he is not a Natural Born citizen of the United States. If he was born in Hawaii, he is a Natural Born Citizen.

No he's a 14th amendment citizen, just like Wong Kim Ark. His father was not a US citizen, or even a resident, he was visitor on a student visa. Thus his son cannot be a natural born citizen which requires a citizen father (and a citizen mother, but that was pretty automatic for legitimate births in 1787 and up until the 1920s.)

Seems Obama must match equally to Polk in order for Obama to be a natural born citizen.

There are several ways to be deemed a natural born citizen, my friend. All our not equal.

Sigh, Obama is not a natural born citizen, if he was born in Hawaii he is a citizen, unless his alleged father’s name is not on the birth certificate. That is what I suspect is the reason for shielding his original long form birth certificate, he’s a bastard and doesn’t want to admit it, especially after writing two books to the contrary.

Polks parents were born in the Unites States.

His parents were born in the British North American colonies and where thus natural born British Subjects. But they became citizens of the US upon the Independence of the United States, and were certainly citizens when he was born. So yes he had two citizen parents. He was born in the country. So he was a natural born citizen.

Is it logical..Obama must meet the same criteria as Polk to be considered a natural born citizen. Polk is the first natural born citizen elected President.

The author is a constitutional scholar. Something is wrong.

This book is difficult to access on the internet.
