We need some more discipline like that shown in Utah.

...he's losing his career ...A 76 year-old who has been a Senator for 12 years! A bit over the top I would say.

Brooks fretted he was punished for being a good conservative who was trying to get things done by bravely working with Democrats on health care and supporting TARP.Sorry - a "good" conservative does not support Socialism.

I was shocked too, weeks ago when I read he was probably gonna get bounced at the convention. I always thought he was a staunch conservative, but I guess not conservative enough. Hey, they followed the rules. So be it.

Has Peggy Noonan, the other faux conservative columnist, weighed in on this story?

No Davey ... it's the politics of the American ... something we've all been wanting for a long, long time.
Especially we whom were very stupid for a long time.
We're awake, aware and pissed off and demand to be respected and represented.
The phrase GFY readily comes to mind.

If David Brooks doesn’t like it, you know it has to be good for the Republican Party and the country.

The undeniable fact that both the RINO establishment
and the radical Left are crapping themselves in fear is proof positive that the Tea Party is a universal force to be reckoned with! HOO-AH!
"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

It seems that Brooks considers it a real shame that people from a constituency have any say about who their representatives should be. I suppose that he would prefer that only the chattering class in Washington have a say in matters of such importance.

The NEW definition of a conservative is:
One who is principled enough to give the Marxist Rats the finger even when they use billions of taxpayer dollars to bribe him into voting for their anti-American, unconstitutionsl legislation, regardless of whether the bill has been written, or what method the Rats have chosen ram it down the throat of legal US Citizens.
Moderate conservative is all of the above, but is brave enough and patriotic enough to call Democrats bald-faced liars on the floor of the House or Senate chamber while in session and favors Joe McCarthy style inquisition to rid the government and country of subversive Marxist/ Communist Infiltrators/traitors.
Ultra conservatives believe Ronald Reagan was a soft leftist plant in the Republican party and that The leftist Commies in government and institutions of higher learning should be forcefully driven into jobs for companies whose voting members represent an new form of taxpayer-union. These companies will provide will provide transportation for illegal aliens back to their country of origin and serve as rick-shaw operators in the urban areas currently devastated by years of their leftist policies.
