JERUSALEM (AFP) Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman on Tuesday accused nuclear power North Korea of supplying Syria with weapons of mass destruction.
Lieberman's office quoted him as telling Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama at a meeting in Tokyo that such activity threatened to destabilise east Asia as well as the Middle East.
"The cooperation between Syria and North Korea is not focused on economic development and growth but rather on weapons of mass destruction" Lieberman said.
In evidence he cited the December 2009 seizure at Bangkok airport of an illicit North Korean arms shipment which US intelligence said was bound for an unnamed Middle East country.
Lieberman said Syria intended to pass the weapons on to the Lebanese Hezbollah militia and to the Islamic Hamas movement, which rules Gaza and has its political headquarters in Damascus.
"This cooperation endangers stability in both southeast Asia and also in the Middle East and is against all the accepted norms in the international arena," Lieberman was quoted as telling Hatoyama.
Thai officials at the time said that acting on a tipoff from Washington they confiscated about 30 tonnes of missiles, rocket-propelled grenades and other weapons when the North Korean plane landed for refuelling in Bangkok.

BIG HMMMMM
Thx.
AH! Now I understand the reasoning behind the forthcoming prophesy in Isaiah 17....concerning the ultimate fate of Damascus. That's going to be a very unhealthy place to live, soon, methinks.
RE: Ive always suspected WMD shipments to Syria from Iraq.
You are so right. In 2004 we followed a rail link to a road that headed straight into Syria. The tracks were shiny and the road looked like it was heavily used. We did not penetrate the Syrian airspace but stopped at the border. We all agreed that this was how Saddam got the WMD out of Iraq.
Get a copy Of General Sada’s book “Saddam’s Secrets”. He is quite detailed on how the all the weapons were transported out of Iraq into Syria.
There were a couple of areas up in Mosul and way down in Tallil in 2004 that we were advised to steer clear of..............
.
bttt
Thanks for the info. Yeah, Mosul was not a good place. I remember a suicide bomber got access to the DFAC and killed a bunch of guys.
I remember watching that
Probably one of two things, there were WMD's in Iraq and anything that will prove it will exonerate bush and all the UN who decided to pretend Iraq never had them, or two, our JSOC and others KNOW about the movements but don't want them to know we know, therefore we or israel just wipes out their reactors when they have the most invested like a few years ago. What troubles me is I've learned of the gas tipped Syrian missiles for years( not a secret) but as you say, some things on the news and on the net just disappear( sort of like Obama's past).
For instance I remember a sort of a flat bed truck with huge panels the Jordanian's stopped at their border when we re attacked Iraq, which was in the LA Times. I even kept the cut out but somehow lost it and to this day I cannot find the photo or the article but I KNOW I saw it in print.
Bottles of liquid and gas containers floppily thrown together. It'll probably never be seen again because we all know( insert my cynical wink wink) Iraq never had WMD's or Al Qaeda, just ask the Kurds and all th Persian's in the 80's that died of, well, a mystery

"Islamic Economics and the Final Jihad: The Muslim Brotherhood to the Leftist/Marxist - Islamist Alliance"
by David J. Jonsson.
Some of his other writings are hosted on my site. His detailing of Shariah finance is mind-numbingly boring, but when he gets into the global economic co-operatives rising against American global economic dominance, it reveals a lot of the motivation for the move's these government are making against usand Israel.
Bottom line, Israel is an American outpost in the middle of an area of the world some very bad people want to see stripped of any American influence or presence at all.
I know it is more sophisticated than that, temporally and spiritually, but more often or not, wars are fought over economic issues.
I appreciate your remarks and agree that one day the truth will prevail. But I doubt I shall be on planet earth when it happens.
Doubt I will either. Too many redactions.
Thank you very much for the recommendation. I wouldn’t mind at all understanding the in-depth economic aspects of this alliance more fully. I’ve seen it developing for a few years now, but beyond the obvious enemy of my enemy is my friend aspect of it I don’t think people are as aware of the underlying “real world” issues — and that includes ME! LOL Thanks again, and I will definitely look into getting that book! :)
Anyway, I can say after I read it (and I'm sure there are others out there as well), when reading the daily news, you find yourself going "Ah, ha" knowing what is behind the trends of global events and national decisions.
The alliance Ive spoken of between these former Communist countries and the Islamic Theocracies is more apparent as also in the news today (dont know if its been posted here yet, or not as I just got online), Russia has announced it wants to help Syria build a Nuclear Power Plant... (Not as if that is really that surprising.)<<<<
It is becoming more visable each day.
Once again, we fight russia, but call the enemy by a different name....as we did in N.Korea, Viet Nam and other locations....
