The Iranian-sponsored Hizbullah was believed to have received long-range variants of the Scud-class ballistic missile. Western intelligence sources said Syria has been supplying Hizbullah with the Scud C missile, with a range of 550 kilometers. They said a Syrian shipment of Scud Cs to Lebanon was detected in early 2010 in a transfer arranged and financed by Iran.

"There is a stockpile of [Hizbullah] weapons, short-range, medium-range and perhaps even long-range missiles, and we are concerned," French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner said.

Kouchner, in a French radio interview on May 2, did not provide details of the Syrian missile transfer to Hizbullah in Lebanon. But he suggested that the transfer could change the strategic balance in the Middle East and lead to war.

"The situation is serious, dangerous," Kouchner said.

The sources said Iran has pressed Syria to transfer much of its advanced ballistic missiles to Hizbullah. Syria has also deployed the Scud D, with a range of 700 kilometers, but the sources said this was not believed to have been relayed to Hizbullah.

North Korea, deemed the largest missile supplier to the Middle East, has developed both Scud C and D for Iran and Syria. The sources said North Korea has been paid by Iran to increase its missile flow to Hizbullah and Syria.

"These weapons flow straight to Iran, who arms and strengthens the world's global terror network, including Hizbullah in Lebanon and other groups in Syria," Israeli President Shimon Peres said on May 2.

The Scud C, when fired from Lebanon, was said to be able to strike any target in Israel. Until 2010, Hizbullah was said to have deployed missiles and rockets with a range of up to 200 kilometers.

You have to gather your forces, find the targets and develop a plan of attack.

These missiles can either be underneath camoflage tarps or in some underground bunker. The area will certainly defended by anti-aircraft weapons.

I meant the city of Damascus, not just military targets.
