S.F. Board of Supervisors call for Arizona boycott
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | Wednesday, May 12, 2010 | Rachel Gordon, John Coté

Posted on 05/12/2010 9:14:57 AM PDT by alexandria

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors took a symbolic jab at Arizona Tuesday for passing a controversial law last month that gives law enforcement authorities in the Grand Canyon State broad powers to check a person's immigration status.

Critics fear the law will lead to racial profiling.

San Francisco supervisors, on a 10-1 vote, approved a nonbinding resolution that calls for a boycott of Arizona-based businesses. It asks for, but does not demand, that city departments refrain from entering into new contracts or extending existing ones with companies headquartered in Arizona, unless severing those ties would result in significant costs to the city or violate other laws.

"This is really about sending a very clear message that when a state passes a law that is egregious as this law is, that people of good conscience in other parts of the country have an obligation and responsibility to speak up and not remain silent," said Supervisor David Campos, chief sponsor of the legislation.

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors took a symbolic jab at Arizona...

Considering the venue, that's not painting a pretty picture...

so it’s OK for them to break law and help those who break the law but have a problem with those who follow and endorse the law

Bush should have stopped money to san freako when he had the chance

Well that does it for me, from now on I am going to make sure I don’t buy anything from California. Anyone know of a good US red wine not made in California? Thanks.

I say BOYCOTT CALIFORNIA WINES!!!

The wineries are major importers of illegals. I’ve decided to make this boycott my crusade. Y’all are welcome to join in.

Australian wines are just as good; the French are now more conservative than the California statehouse; there are wineries in Idaho and Texas; etc.

Please help this boycott grow legs. Thanks!

The last time I was in San Francisco, which has been quite a while, it was a depressing scene of homelessness EVERYWHERE. People sleeping in parks, in doorways. Apparently, the council is blind to the squalor on its doorsteps. Who am I kidding, there’s an elitist ruling class that doesn’t give a crap about actual citizens.

AZ should give every illegal a one-way bus ticket to SF.

GAAACCKK!!!

Bite your tongue! I already feel like a minority in this state, have had ever since high school 15 years or more back there.

Have no fear San Fran... I've boycotted your city since 2006... too bad because my favorite National League baseball team is the Giants.

I'll just see them whenever they play in Houston.

They’ll cut off their vegetables and all they will be left with is fruits.

They've already cut off their nuts. Why not finish the job?

Insane, just totally nuts. Some of the comments I saw showed that people living in S.F. were not happy with this action.

I wonder why SFers would even care. Does Phoenix have better bathhouses?

I mentioned on another thread that clowns such as SFers, the Highland Park, IL school district and other gatherings of losers think they’re inflicting pain on Arizona. I’m quite sure the folks there are more than happy to see them boycott.

The libs are binding joke upon America, it seems only their sidekick “respectable” conservative buddies take them seriously. When in fact they need a serious trial for crimes against humanity.
