LOS ANGELES A prosecution spokesman says Sean Penn has reached a plea deal in a case in which he was videotaped kicking a photographer.
Penn entered a no contest plea to vandalism through his attorney Wednesday morning. City attorney's spokesman Frank Mateljan (Mah-tell-JIN') says Penn was sentenced to three years of informal probation and ordered to perform 300 hours of community service.
Mateljan says those hours can be completed through Penn's earthquake-relief efforts in Haiti.

In Los Angeles, there are 2 sets of justice.
1) celebrities
2) the rest of us.

Sean Penn is a punk, but for assaulting a paparazzi? Can’t drum up much sorrow for that.

Earthquake relief in Haiti? If he takes a paper cup with him, the Haitians are doomed.

Yep, and he still keeps his CA CCW.
I’ve never been arrested, more or less charged or pled down a crime, I have a family, a home and better firearms training than most law enforcement (not saying much) and I can’t get one.
But this punk can keep his even after having unsecured guns stolen from him and after assault charges.
Go figure.

I know someone in New Orleans that is well capable and has vowed to hurt this pos a$$hole if he ever comes back and this fellow sees him. He is connected and will get away with it. I asked him to video it if it ever comes to pass.

I seldom have any intercourse with Journalists, but from the few times I have, I cannot say that if given the chance I would kick one in the balls. The leg is not near what most deserve.

And of course, after all his lawyering up, it couldn't possibly occur to him how hypocritical all of his social justice talk is.

I remember that pic from New Orleans. He is taking water out of a skiff with a plastic cup - big help. If he wants to come to Louisiana again, he can bring his cup and clean up the oil slick. Bozo.

Funny thing is that I could probably "afford" to pay for the lawsuit but it just ain't worth it for a CCW that I don't really need anyway. (Don't need as in there is no legal requirement for me to get permission from CA to exercise my Constitutional rights.)
