Sarah Palin's Political Bandwagon Is wobbling Under The Weight of Contradictions [Fiorina Backlash?]

Sarah Palin's Political Bandwagon Is wobbling Under The Weight of Contradictions The Sarah Palin phenomenon is finally beginning to fade as contradictions mount up, says Alex Spillius in Washington

Alex Spillius 15 May 2010

We are seeing the first signs of wobble on the Sarah Palin bandwagon. This may seem a strange thing to say about a political superstar who has earned at least $12 million in the past 18 months from a publishing advance, personal appearance fees and a television punditry contract, not to forget a reality show about life in Alaska.

Palin is such a boon to the struggling book world that her second opus, America by Heart - Reflection on Family, Faith and Flag, can already be ordered in advance even though publication is six months away. A return to the number one spot on the best seller list surely awaits.

But other indices are proving less kind to the former Alaska governor. According to a recent poll more Alaskans than not think the presidency should not form the next chapter of Palin's extraordinary story, while 45 per cent gave her a negative personal rating. When John McCain plucked her from obscurity to be his Republican running mate in the 2008 campaign, her approval rating at home was 80 per cent, the highest of any governor in the country.

Now even a poll of Tea Party supporters, her most ardent fans, showed that a majority wouldn't vote for her if she ran for president in 2012. It is not just that the faithful are beginning to question her readiness for the White House.

By attacking our strongest conservative, the marxist media ALWAYS identifies who they fear the most.

Not true. It is the ones who are ignored, and kept wholly away from the lime light which are the ones they fear.

She made a mistake. I wish she wouldn’t have endorsed Carly and McCain..

but she has had a really good week. im not going to abandon her over that. shes not perfect.

I don’t want a messiah figure. I want a President.

You remember them the way you want to remember them, I’m not now and never have been a Scientology supporter, what I don’t do is kick people when they are down and you quite enjoy doing just that.

I believe in holding people accountable for their actions.

Just like with Palin. She doesn’t get a pass for backing the demon sheep candidate instead of someone like Devore.

Too man have blinders on with Palin, believing she means the best even when her actions show otherwise. She is a very good conservative, but not perfect.

For example - Mike Huckabee, loathed by many Palin supporters, has been more supportive of true conservative candidates this election season, especially with De Vore. Yet, he is a “RINO” and Palin is “our best conservative.”

Go figure.

Sorry, the Huckster may be pro-life but has a LONG record of sheer liberalism. No thanks!

Unfortunately like most laws, it had a loophole that was exploited by the haters. Palin signed it into law - I don't think she had the foresight that she was going to be driven out of office by the very law she signed.

Perhaps she should have read that law a little more carefully before signing it.

I like her. I like her speeches. She is a good spokesman for the Republican Party. Speaking is her strength. But she doesn't have the perseverance necessary to occupy high office. When she resigned as governor of Alaska, she sealed her fate. I wish her well on the speaking circuit.

She handed the Governorship over to a Republican and she now is the loudest voice attacking Obama on an almost daily basis.

As I have said many times on this thread, Palin's strength is as a spokesman for the Republican Party, but not holding political office. She will do well in the media.

“The bottom line is those that can’t conceive that Palin can actually do wrong are no better than those that shut their ears and eyes to Obama’s antics.”

Nice comparison...for a third grader.

“This whole thing is really scary to me because it shows what can happen when the Antichrist appears.”

Wow. For a private citizen, she sure has to endure a lot of scrutiny.

Look, I don’t agree with every Palin endorsement, but she is smart politically, and quite frankly, she has more balls in calling out Obama and his wrecking crew than the top dozen men Republicans combined.

It is more important to save the country than to not have every candidate you support endorsed by Sarah Palin.

I’ll vote for in 2012 if she runs—in a heartbeat.

No one else comes close.

No, she didn’t. She scared off the idiots who can’t understand paying a debt that is owed. When it comes to Fiorina she is the one who will win the Primary, if she doesn’t then Campbell will win. DeVore hasn’t got a chance, all he is doing is splitting the vote with Carly and making sure that Campbell wins. Sarah was right to endorse her over DeVore.
