Sarah Palin's Political Bandwagon Is wobbling Under The Weight of Contradictions [Fiorina Backlash?]

Sarah Palin's Political Bandwagon Is wobbling Under The Weight of Contradictions The Sarah Palin phenomenon is finally beginning to fade as contradictions mount up, says Alex Spillius in Washington

Alex Spillius 15 May 2010

We are seeing the first signs of wobble on the Sarah Palin bandwagon. This may seem a strange thing to say about a political superstar who has earned at least $12 million in the past 18 months from a publishing advance, personal appearance fees and a television punditry contract, not to forget a reality show about life in Alaska.

Palin is such a boon to the struggling book world that her second opus, America by Heart - Reflection on Family, Faith and Flag, can already be ordered in advance even though publication is six months away. A return to the number one spot on the best seller list surely awaits.

But other indices are proving less kind to the former Alaska governor. According to a recent poll more Alaskans than not think the presidency should not form the next chapter of Palin's extraordinary story, while 45 per cent gave her a negative personal rating. When John McCain plucked her from obscurity to be his Republican running mate in the 2008 campaign, her approval rating at home was 80 per cent, the highest of any governor in the country.

Now even a poll of Tea Party supporters, her most ardent fans, showed that a majority wouldn't vote for her if she ran for president in 2012. It is not just that the faithful are beginning to question her readiness for the White House.

That “wobble” is just the vibration as the vehicle rises from the launch pad. The trip is just beginning.

who needs to scribble her talking points on her palm and whose favourite modes of communication are those of a 15-year-old, namely Twitter and Facebook

Yes, quite unlike our current CIC who only needs a teleprompter in order to utter a cohesive sentence, and even though he holds the bully pulpit, also has Facebook and Twitter accounts

What a bunch of frothing dribble ...

Well, I guess you obviously did not see the reactions of the crowds yesterday at her appearances in DC, Charlotte, and SC.

If our strongest conservative endorses RINOs like Fiorino and McCain, how conservative is conservative?

How conservative was Reagan who made a liberal and a RiNO his VP picks?

That was a rhetorical question, BTW.

She won’t get elected cause she jumped the shark with McIdiot and all his pals too soon. Scared off the base she had.

You're living in the FreeRepublic PDS bubble.

She still sells out the venues whereever she goes.

And she is going everywhere and is speaking almost everyday, and sometimes more than once a day.

So I guess you'll be quite supprised to have to call her Madame President in January 2013.

Truly spoken. I can understand (barely) Palin supporting McCain out of personal loyalty. He recognized her talent and gave her a national platform, and has never spoken ill of her.

But her endorsement of Carly Fiorina — feminist destroyer of HP — is a bridge too far for me.

By attacking our strongest conservative, the marxist media ALWAYS identifies who they fear the most.

I hate to say it but it was not the media that offered an endorsement to Fiorina. Palin did that all on her own.

Throwing out the accusation of "troll" in response to a post is the same using the word "racist" to describe someone in favor of the Arizona law.

There may indeed from time to time be trolls here, but it is not a word that should be used carelessly.

The fear among the libs just continues to build when it concerns Sarah Palin. The only requirement for 2012 is to be the anti-obama, much like Reagan was the anti-carter in 1980. Who could possibly be more prepared to win that title than Sarah Palin? I think libs know Obama is a deadend so they are spending more time trying to “shape” the Republican field than they are in trying to save Obama. Unfortunately for them, Mitt Romney has no chance in 2012 and conservative like Palin, Demint, and Ryan are the most likley to assume the anti-obama mantel.

YAWN!

Yup, the lefties are petrified, and now they’re trying to build an alliance with Palin-haters on the right to try and take her out.

They love playing up the “disarray” as her crowds grow and other candidates beg for her endorsement.

I am going to love watching all of their heads explode when she runs. LOL
