Admittedly my memory is not what it used to be, but I thought the TARP vote in the Senate was something like 98-0.

The final vote was 74-25.

Democrats: 42- 9
Independents: 1- 1
Republicans: 31-15

You have provided a fine service here. This is the uncategorical list of Republican Congressmen and Senators who have to either be defeated in a primary, or retire. A Republican who was persuaded to vote for TARP and its various cousins showed incredible weakness and gullibility. Just like voting against Clinton’s impeachment, the vote on TARP was a gut check failed by dozens of Republicans. Personally, I will not be happy until all of them (Republicans and Democrats) that voted for TARP are out of office.

“Romney praises Obama
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney praised President Obama
at a GOP fundraising dinner Wednesday ..
"I also think it's important for us to nod to the president when he's right," Romney said....
Romney, who spoke at a dinner for the National Republican Senatorial Committee,
said he's pleased with the president's plans to "finish the job" in Iraq and Afghanistan
-- lines that drew applause from the partisan audience. He also applauded the president
for standing up to the auto industry.
"I hope he continues to be tough ....The former businessman even offered faint praise for
Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, saying that after a series of initial missteps,
"I think he's finally getting close to the right answer."

Everyone who had anything at all to do with TARP can go to heLL. That includes Republicans and no, I don’t care if the seat might go to a Dem. They’re lucky we don’t try them for treason for that vote.

WAY TO GO PALIN!

Keep endorsing McPAIN!

Sarah, go along with McPain’s REINVENTING HISTORY theme. Sarah Palin, how are YOU so much better when YOU endorse this RINO?

Gee, where the Sarah Palin worshipers NOW?

No comments from the Palin worshipper, peanut gallery?

I believe that they are not going to respond to you for two reasons. One, there is no adequate response, the lady is flat wrong on this. Two, you come off as pissed and hateful and spoiling for a fight.....I don’t have a dog in this fight but it seems to me that it would be more fun to let you stew in your anger.

That was the second ‘extension’ vote.
The October 2008 vote was

October1, 2008 TARP Tally(House of Representatives):

Ayes: 173 Democrats, 91 Republicans = 264 Ayes
Nays: 63 Democrats, 108 Republicans = 171 Nays

Total Votes 435

October 1, 2008 TARP Tally (Senate):
Ayes 38 Democrats 35 Republicans 1 Independent = 74 Ayes
Nays 10 Democrats 15 Republicans 1 Independent = 25 Nays
Not Voting 1

Sorry, but I disagree. I did not support TARP, but Bush and Paulson stampeded a lot of people to vote for it. I fully support Paul Ryan despite this vote. Ryan has an ACU ating of 92.36 over 11 years.

At bottom, I blame Paulson.

When the Secretary of the Treasury comes to you and says, "If we do not act, the entire financial system will collapse", it would be hard to react otherwise.

Especially when you already know that the proximate cause of the collapse was several truckloads of bad paper issued by a government entity, also collapsed...then bailed out itself.

Carter, Clinton, Dodd, Frank, Paulson...and weak-kneed Republicans who didn't have the courage to remedy something they knew was wrong.

Only after that bunch can we start talking about Goldman-Sachs' share of the blame...

Hateful? LOL! You sound like the typical LEFTIE that has to NAME CALL because they can not respond with anything for a defense. Surely you can do better than that.

I am PISSED at Palin. No doubt about THAT. Do I “hate” her? NO! She's useful on some issues but dead wrong on a few others like, McPain.

Read whatever you want into my replies.
Name call me.
Call me a bigot and a hate monger or even a racist if you get stuck. I really don't care ... yawn ... . It's so juvenile. I ma not "stewing in my own anger". I'm just exercising my right to express my opionon just as you, a closet Palin supporter is doing: "I don’t have a dog in this fight but it seems to me that it would be more fun to let you stew in your anger." LOL!!! No "dog in this fight"? LOL!!!!!

LOL. Listen, genius. You plow the field with the oxen God gave you. In six months we had better take one of the Houses of Congress or this country is screwed. And exactly who will replace Ryan in November?

A road map for America's future
