More than two-dozen cities and counties in southern Texas joined by environmentalists and immigrant-rights organizations are calling on two lawmakers to end their push for additional fencing along the nations boundary with Mexico.
In a letter to Senate leaders May 6, the Texas Border Coalition and others argued that the approximately 650 miles of fencing already constructed in recent years has divided communities, negatively impacted the environment and cost taxpayers a fortune. They say that despite investing $2.6 billion so far, the barriers value in stopping the flow of illegal immigration and drug traffickers from Mexico hasnt been studied.
The lack of such an analysis was confirmed this week by the Government Accountability Office, a watchdog arm of Congress, which concluded in a report that Customs and Border Protection cannot account separately for the impact of tactical infrastructure, i.e. border fencing.
What kind of bs are they trying to pull.
Same type that KBH, Cornyn and Perry pulled 2 years ago.
ping
and these communities along the border are all, what, American or mostly mexican?
the article is pure crap
We need a President who will use emminent domain to seize property along the Rio Grande and put up huge double fences with a road between them, then do some serious patrols with big, nasty guns. A shoot to kill on sight order wouldn’t be out of place, either.
Remember: these Reconquista groups are now siding with Hamas and Al Qaeda. No more being ‘politically correct’.
Prayers for Texas, they have been overrun. We stand by you, Texas, whatever yet may come my brothers and sisters.

Do we need to read any further????
I think the fence around the White House is divisive.
CHEERS!
I didn’t realize all of these “groups” who signed the letter even existed in Texas. I shouldn’t be surprised, though! They represent what percent of Texans who DO want the fence completed, the borders secured and protected and a government who will see that all is being done to PROTECT her citizens?

More than two-dozen cities and counties in Southern Quebec Province and the Northern New York State Undocumented Canadian Know-It-Alls (NNYSUCK), Inc., joined by moon-bat environmentalists and French-Canadian illegal immigrant-rights organizations are calling on two U.S. lawmakers to end their push for additional electric fences along the New York State`s boundary with Canada.
In a letter to Senate leaders May 6, the Northern New York Border and Southern Canada Coalition of Dairy Farmers and Les Others argued that the approximately 650 miles of electric fencing already constructed in recent years has divided cowbarns, negatively impacted the pasture grazing environment and cost taxpayers a fortune in cow pies. They say that despite investing $2.6 billion so far, the barrier’s value in stopping the flow of French Canadian cows illegally immigrating to New York State and French Canadian cow hormone drug traffickers from Saskatchewan hasn’t been studied.
The lack of such an analysis was confirmed this week by the Government Accountability Office, a watchcow leg of Congress, which concluded in a report that Customs and Border Protection “cannot account separately for the impact of undocumented cow pies falling on electric fences, i.e., tactical infrastructure,” making the border fencing an unsightly fried-up mess indeed for farm visitors."
I’m sure glad this is happening this year, just 6 months before the election.
The communists built the Berlin Wall basically overnight and it did a damn good job of keeping people out - and in. Why in the hell does there need to be a "study"? Either it is staunching the flow or it is not.
And there you have the issue in a nutshell. They want open borders. All the rest of their arguments are BS.
Yes, but we need to be pushing harder. My view is that the effort should be focuse on border security, a full on push for a serious effort to secure the border. Throw in too much and you give the politicians wiggle room, statements like, we need comprehensive immigration reform, its a complicated issue.
Ping!
That Texas border country was where I was born, raised and worked for many years, it’s all Democrat run. It was like living in a huge Democrat voting bloc.
That string of counties is easy to see on the red/blue map. We can cut them off of Texas, draw a new border (Texas will look a little strange but we can deal with it), built a fence and have limited check points through our perimeter.
Their loyalties are to Mexico for the most part and they run their counties in that fashion.
I think the fence around the White House is divisive.
I've had enough of this B.S. Let's run the fence north of these whining communities and let Mexico have 'em.
