Seven years after the Episcopal Church caused an uproar by consecrating its first openly gay bishop, it has done the same thing again -- only this time with a woman.
The Rev. Canon Mary Glasspool, of Baltimore, was ordained and consecrated on Saturday, making her the second openly gay bishop in church history and one of the first two female bishops in the Diocese of Los Angeles' 114-year history.
Breakaway Episcopal conservatives have formed a rival church, the Anglican Church in North America.
Several overseas Anglicans have been pressuring Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams, spiritual leader of the world's 77 million Anglicans, to officially recognize the new conservative entity.
In 2004, Anglican leaders asked the Episcopal Church for a moratorium on electing another gay bishop while they tried to prevent a permanent break in the fellowship.

This saddens me for all those faithful Episcopal Christians who do not see the crisis of their church. At the same time, I am glad to be shut of this apostate branch of the Body of Christ as much as I am glad to be shut of California, a renegade state of the United States.
Why don’t they just go all the way and ordain Satan?

It’s simply amazing that a church could come to this end,this destruction.

I saw it over ten years ago, as I was senior warden at
a very small, but historic church in Tennessee.
I left the ECUSA.
It has gone the same way as the USA, now USSA...down the tubes.
The Episcopal church was the first church in America.
This is so sad. My family and I left shortly after the consecration of Vicki Gene Robinson.
I remain a member of the Anglican Mission in America.
Conservative Episcopalians, there is a home for you.

Let set the “gay” part of this issue aside for the moment... is the Episcopal church condoning infidelity?
Because if she is “openly” gay ... she has a partner.. which means she is committing sex out of wedlock, which isn’ even allowed among heterosexuals.
They are so open-minded, their brains have fallen out
actually, the Episcopals weren’t the first church in America.
The Catholics (in St Augustine Florida) beat them to it.
