The key person who didn’t defend the Bush administration’s policies was W himself. He should have gone on the attack against the MSM immediately after the 2000 election was kept from being stolen by Gore and against Mayor Nagin, Governor Blanco and the MSM immediately after the Katrina flooding occurred. Quite frankly, the city and state of Louisiana had primary responsibility for NO’s legions of drones—not the federal government.
Sorry, Bush is only one voice. The presidency is a loud voice, but not so loud with a GOP president.
A GOP president has to be defended or they leave office in distain as G.W. Bush, G.H.W. Bush and Reagan ALL did. Time of course heals this some, but that cuts both ways.
In time some new GOP president, maybe Palin, will be savaged by the press and purists here will be saying why can’t they be a real conservative ala Reagan and G.W. Bush. The GOP members of the chattering class will not stand up for that GOP president either as all their friends inside the beltway demand that to be taken seriously they trash the current GOP president. After a short time past GOP presidents are honored, but a current one is always trashed and clearly from this board we can see part of why it is possible.
Agree 100%.
That's what I have been trying to say for years.
