Ex-MA Gov. Mitt Romney (R) held a fundraiser in Manhattan last week and outperformed Pres. Obama's own cash grab a day later on behalf of the DCCC, another sign of trouble brewing for Dems this cycle in all corners of the country.
Romney headlined an event at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City on May 12 that raised $1.5M for his Free and Strong America PAC.
By contrast, Obama's appearance at the St. Regis Hotel on May 13 raked in a lesser $1.3 million for the DCCC.

Obama not attracting the big-money is great news. Mitt Romney adding more money to the pockets is terrifying.
Money didn't help him last time around, hopefully things won't be any different next time around.
Unfortunately it shows that Manhattan Republicans are about as solid in their political thinking as Manhattan Democrats. Oh, well.
What’s the surprise ? NYC always gives heavily to Socialists.

Agree, and it’s pretty clear Romney is running hard — just got word that he’s the speaker at Reagan Library later this month — for $125 you get his speech and dinner. For just the price of his book you get, well, the book and his signature, if you want it.
I went to the Mark Levin booksigning/speaking event not long ago and it was fabulous. Mark’s speech was terrific and dinner was wonderful — just $50.
Do I plan to buy Romney’s book or pay to listen to him? NO. Honestly, the thought of him at the Reagan Library just seem wrong to me. I fear he will be the GOP candidate. If he is, will I vote for him? After voting McCain while holding my nose, I’m not sure I can do it again.
For one, it only counts the legal fund raising. Most of Obama’s in 2008 came from untraceable credit cards - many overseas.
It’s outright offensive Slick Willard being at the Reagan Library. He never supported Reagan (voted Democrat by his own admission), and his father made it his mission to drive Conservatives (read: Reagan) out of the GOP in the 1970s. Total fraud and phony.
Heh heh....
My favorite part of any Romney thread is reading the keywords.
