US Senate Candidate Richard Blumenthal today held a press conference, to defend himself against a New York Times article citing a video in which Blumehthal says he served in Vietnam.
Blumenthal served in the Marine Reserves during Vietnam, but not in Vietnam.
"On a few occaisions I have misspoken about my service, I take full responsibility," Blumenthal said.

I served during the gulf war as an Air Force Pilot........I never went to theater my room mates did and I would never claim to have done , what they have done.

I saw the video of Blumenthal saying he served in Vietnam. I, too, served in the Marine Corps Reserve and never went near Vietnam. I served with and was trained by Vietnam combat veterans.
For Blumenthal to say, point blank, that he served in Vietnam is not an, “Oops, I misspoke,” kind of mistake. It is a brazen lie and it is stolen valor. This p.o.s. Blumenthal should be in jail.
“Misspoken” the same words Hilary used after being caught making stories of being shot at by snipers in Bosnia. Hahaha!

First of all if he spoke “hundreds and hundreds” of times there should be quite a few tapes out there of him saying “during”.
Second, if he spoke “hundreds and hundreds” of times you’d think he’d get used to saying “during” instead of “in”.
I’d like to see him explain how he meant to say “When I came back DURING Viet Nam....”.
Finally, on all those vets who support him. I don’t understand how any veteran can vote for a democrat anymore than how a Jew can vote for a democrat.
