I don't remember seeing a democrat on the ballot in this race, there was the conservative and the tea party guy.

I agree with Rush, let's have the dems run on 0bama's agenda, leave OUR platform to us, and see who wins.

I find it ironic that this author stated that neither Ms. Pelosi or Obama were on the ballot. The same holds true when zero is spewing and blaming Bush for everything. Bush isn’t and wasn’t on the ballot either, but, that didn’t stop the radical machine from putting him on it.

More hypocrisy from the liberal left.

Are you smoking COKE? The Independants most assuridly Voted in this Congressional Election!

Independents CANNOT vote in the PA primary. It is a closed primary and only those registered as dem or repub are allowed to vote for candidates. Independents can vote for ballot measures, etc. but not for candidates.

Rush talked about the reality of this election and the RATs are still going to be TOAST in November. Everybody I talk to is in a major state of rage and want all RATs and RINOs out along with the Fuhrer.

"Republicans who were counting on their voters to be more enthusiastic should be concerned that too many stayed home when it counted. "

The only lesson from this election will not be learned...we will never face it, ever.

That is that the ballot box cannot save us.

Murtha’s district hass been conditioned over decades—it is all about the pork up there. The union-bots there want to suck up all the fed dollars they can get and they know the Dem will sleazebag it up on their behalf.

This is all crap. It’s a Democrat stronghold. The Dem ran as a conservative. The Pub challenger did not get defeated cause he won his primary election. Lets take a look at what a Dem would have seen in the election booth: Democrat primary vote then Special election vote, same guy. Lets see if they keep this seat in November.

That's a really good question. Certainly Independents were allowed to vote in the special election. But there was an issue where a precinct was handing out two ballots "by mistake" and as a result some people voted twice. This implies that the special election and the primary were on one ballot. It would be great to know how the whole thing was handled.

I think there is a strong possibility that Independents did not show up since they would not be voting in the primary elections. There has already been a suggestion that the Dems knew there was more to running the special election during the primary than just efficiency.

I think Burns can pull it out in November.
One of the reasons why 0bama wanted Spectre over Admiral Seasick is that Seasick is going to hurt Democrats down ballot. He’s not as well known, lacks Big Union support, and his far left politics alienates a lot of those blue dog racist bitter clingers in Murtha’s district and elsewhere throughout central PA.

So a lot of people who were out to vote in the Democrat primary aren’t going to be motivated to vote in November. However, conservatives and Tea Partiers who had no reason to vote yesterday since their candidate was unopposed will be out in force.

And once Critz is in Washington, he becomes the “insider”. And he will be able to be tied to everything the Democrats do from now until November. He’s going to have to make tough choices, and no matter what he chooses, he’s going to lose support. Every vote he casts for Pelosi’s agenda will be used against him.

Murtha's district must be 90% communist. I wish them luck when the USA splits into the southern low tax states and the northern high tax states.

I am hoping & praying it happens sooner than later, or worst of all, not happening at all. I am sick to death & tired of living in a socialist USA and having to pay for all the socialist demoRAT bullshiite. I will move from MN to Texas or OK or AZ or any of the states that break off & secede from the USSA. Capitalism/Libert/Freedom is completely opposite from socialism. Give the liberal-socialists their own damn country and we will get our own country and NEVER allow any of the liberal-socialists to move into our half. I guess that's my fantasy-dream.

The polls showed that of those most enthusiastic to vote, Burns was way ahead. Now I’m very skeptical of polls showing Republicans ahead based on “intensity”.

“Critz ran to the Right of Rush Limbaugh and was not called on it. Sadly, he will take his marching orders from Pelosi when he reaches DC.”

Precisely. The Rats who won seats in swing states in 2008 did the same thing. The Republicans need to use the health care vote and the stimulus vote to drive home the point that the Rats are pathological liars and cannot be trusted. I will repeat the the strategy Republicans need to use this year:

THE DEMOCRATS HAVE LIED TO YOU BEFORE ABOUT BEING CONSERVATIVE, AND THEY ARE LYING TO YOU NOW!!!!!!! THEY CANNOT BE TRUSTED!!!!!

After Republican incompetence while in power they need to get to work proving themselves to Americans. Simply not being a Dem isn't going to be enough, but losing by eight points in a district that has a 2 to 1 Democrat registration advantage is not a bad thing. For the Republican to have won the seat would have been as big as them winning the Massachusetts Senate seat.

“...Jack Murtha in the 12th House district in southwestern Pennsylvania. John McCain had carried the seat with 49% of the vote in 2008...”

John McCain carried the seat?

This is the Wall Street Journal?

Do they have editors there?

Pure genius... Well at least they got the Democrat part right...
