A top Department of Homeland Security official reportedly said his agency will not necessarily process illegal immigrants referred to them by Arizona authorities.
John Morton, assistant secretary of homeland security for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, made the comment during a meeting on Wednesday with the editorial board of the Chicago Tribune, the newspaper reports. "I don't think the Arizona law, or laws like it, are the solution," Morton told the newspaper. The best way to reduce illegal immigration is through a comprehensive federal approach, he said, and not a patchwork of state laws. The law, which criminalizes being in the state illegally and requires authorities to check suspects for immigration status, is not "good government," Morton said.

They had no ID, so the sheriff called ICE.
Their reply “if they haven’t broken any local laws, release them we are not coming to get them”.

Nevada County, California has caught their fair share of illegals who got into other kids of trouble.
They were in the county jail serving their time for local transgressions. ICE was called to pick them up/take them at end of their sentence.
ICE does not have anything except automated calling services. They never called the Nevada County Sheriff back, despite several calls to ICE.
Illegal got turned loose after being in jail for 30/60 days, etc.
Could just drive them to California and let them worry about what to do ...

They need to start working up some laws that say that any federal agents interfering with Arizona laws will be prosecuted.

Looks like the cutting of those beds were a little shortsighted by the legislature in January.
So if I am reading this right, the federal government has now said outright they are not obeying the law and actively working AGAINST the people of this country.
There are 11 states that pay more into the Fed than they get back in federal monies. AZ is not one of them.
They can yell “racist!” all day long, but they severely underestimate the intellegence of ‘flyover country.’
Most people know how illegals are effecting their jobs and their taxes from welfare, medicaid and food stamps for illegals while most make just enough to not qualify themselves when they need it as a safety net.
God help me, but my gut day in and day out is yelling civil war.
Maybe the ICE guy would make America a better place if he worked as hard at his job as you work at your job.
