Oh, but it is indeed illegal, Martha. It is United States Federal law.
Given the mindboggling ignorance of Coakley, Obama, Napolitano, Holder and the mayor of Phoenix, I thought a review might be in order.
Since 1929 it has been a Federal crime to enter this country illegally. It carries a fine of up to $250 (hey it was 1929) and imprisonment of up to six months.
Obama was whining about the need to "show your papers." In his excellent post Curt pointed out that in Mexico you sure as hell have to have your papers on you and that Mexico's illegal policy is a lot tougher than our own. Do aliens have to carry papers here? Why, yes they do. Not only that, they are supposed to be fingerprinted on entry as well!
