Kentucky Senate candidate Rand Paul is feeling what it is like to be Sarah Palin, the former Republican vice presidential candidate said Sunday, comparing the media's preoccupation with Paul's recent statements about the 1964 Civil Rights Act to her own treatment in the press.

Palin said that Paul is seeing firsthand how "gotcha" politics work after the libertarian-leaning Republican spent days on defense spelling out his support for the Civil Rights Act and the government's role in regulating how private businesses can deal with their customers.

A small difference is that Palin was interviewed by Couric and Rose. She should have avoided both of them. Paul was interviewed by Maddow, and once was enough. Hopefully, future conservatives will be sharp enough not to get burned the first time.

Not sure I like the tenor of Palin’s statement. I would much rather see Rand Paul as President, of the two.

I’d take Ron Paul, Rand Paul, Sarah Palin. Not a fan of Gingrich, Romney, Huckabee. Rand Paul should not be the Pres nominee in 2012. Sarah Palin / Rand Paul - Sarah Palin / Ron Paul - Ron Paul / Sarah Palin would all be great. Palin wouldn’t take the VP slot though. And it would be extremely unlikely that the other 2 would happen.

Yes,and like you Mrs Palin,Mr Paul is goining to become a conservative superstar from the attacks.

The DNCMSM should know by now that America knows they lie and will support more any politician they condemn.

Idjits!

Palin learned what it was like to be Ron Paul. Ron Paul was asked by Russert in 07 about comments he made about the Civil War. If 1964 is a long time ago, 1864 is even longer ago. Someone commented that Rand Paul anticipated Maddows attack, so as to get the George Steph thing right. That could be possible. The outcome could be seen to go in Rand Paul’s favor. The conservatives / tea partiers nationally are more strongly supporting Rand. The hand wringer RINOs and the Leftists not as much.

Paul was certainly hauled over the coals and demonized on Meet the Press today.

It's really too bad that Rand Paul ( and his dad) are in bed with the IVAW ( Iraq Veteran Against the War) and Adam Kokesh . These posers as patriots , are in fact a 5th column asset to Americas mortal enemies in the fight against radical Islam . Rand Paul knows full well about these people and has not disavowed them . IVAW is linked , arm in arm , with Code Pink . Is that what you can call a 'Tea Party candidate' ? I think not .....YouTube search Adam Kokesh - Rand Paul

Every time the media bring up the subject of race, conservative candidates need to slap them in the face with the reality of what the Republicans have done FOR minorities and the damage Democrats have done TO minorities. Why hold back.

I think that everybody is getting bored with the "gotcha" politics of the left. It is too boring (tedious and predictable). The MSM goes ballistic about a splinter in the eye of a conservative, while ignoring the plank in their own eyes.

The press magnifies the perceived slight or fault many times, adds misstatements to everybody's talking points, acts as though the world is coming to an end because of the mole hill made mountain, and repeats the "spin" until the people yell enough!

It is plain dumb and helps explain why they are the "dinosaur" media.

All the liberal media did was unite the GOP base around Rand Paul. Before their pathetic attacks, the narrative was Grayson’s supporters would never support Paul. Well not true at all now, especially with Grayson’s endorsement of Paul...unlike on the democratic side where Mongiardo is refusing to endorse Conway.

They are attacking Dr. Paul because he scares the hell out of them. As Rush says, they only get hysterical over who they fear.

As Ted Nugent said, “If you’re taking flak you are over the target!”

They launched on Rand even quicker than they did on Sarah. It wasn’t 12 hours after the primary before they played the race card.

She should have avoided both of them.

Probably, but then again, she didn't have much choice in the matter with Nicholle Wallace complicit in the ambushes.

Actually I was kind of liking the way Rand hit back at George Steph — especially naming names like Sen. Byrd. Too many people are unaware of the Democrat Party’s role in the 60s...

Ms. Palin is more popular then ever, as will be Mr. Paul. This gotcha thing the left-wing media adores never works if it has no substance. These buffoons (the MSM) have been doing this to Rush Limbaugh forever and, all it got for them was that Mr. Limbaugh got more creditablilty, audience and acceptance as the great “conservative” leader he is. End of story.
