A South Carolina blogger, and former aide to Governor Mark Sanford claims he had an affair with GOP gubernatorial candidate Nikki Haley.
On his blog Monday morning, Will Folks wrote, several years ago, prior to my marriage, I had an inappropriate physical relationship with Nikki [Haley].
Haleys campaign emphatically denied the claim to WIS-TV in Columbia.
Folks went on to say, ...within the last forty-eight hours several pieces of information which purportedly document a prior physical relationship between myself and Rep. Haley have begun to be leaked slowly, piece by piece, to members of the mainstream media. I am told that at least one story based upon this information will be published this week. Watching all of this unfold, I have become convinced that the gradual release of this information is deliberately designed to advance this story in the press while simultaneously forcing either evasive answers or denials on my part or on Nikkis part.
Folks apologized to the Haley family and his wife for not telling her prior to their marriage.
News 2 is investigating this story, and will have more tonight on News 2 at 5:00. You can also check back here frequently for updates as they become available.

sounds like a porn star name
she looks like jay leno
So much for her career.
I am about sick to death of this Good Old Boy Crap in this state! I mean come on! This is the oldest trick in the book! 20 bucks says this guy has a job promised to him with either McMaster or Andre!

This is Palin’s and Mitt’s girl.
She does have that “Leno chin”.

I'm married to Morgan Fairchild.
Why would he apologize to his wife who wasn’t his wife at the time of the affair (if there was one). Was he supposed to be celibate?
I read it and still cannot figure out if Haley was married at the time.
Well you only do that if her name is Helen T.
NOT GUILTY....LOL...always loved morgan...
She’s the most conservative choice. Slick Willard must have made some sort of mistake. Bauer’s not his kind of guy, but McMasters or Barrett should be right up his RINO alley.
Home from school?
she looks like a slightly more wonkish Angie Harmon.
Folks apologized to the Haley family and his wife for not telling her prior to their marriage. So Will and "Nikki" are both men?
Well, if she was boinking her co-worker, then she’ll be resigning shortly.

Ooops...
smearing for dems? for dollars?
Yea right, this guy had an affair years ago. now that she is running as a candidate for Governor this comes out of the woodwork. Hold on here, affairs are generally done by political men in the South. Thats all Folks, he is toast. Odd he is screaming the most and what does he have to gain. how about Nikki Haley files a defamation of character lawsuit against Folks. Wonder if folks is receiving some of the Stimulus Money from Obozo in DC.
I don’t like Barrett or Bauer, too “establishment” for me.
Not guilty!
Payback to Jennf Sanford I am sure for backing her.
Revenge for Jenny Sanford’s endorsement of Nikki?
Damn hope it isn’t true.
Thanks!!
What does Morgan Fairchild look like these days?...
Especially as she works hard to provide gov't transparency in SC.
Sure. In a hot feminine way, without a moon face.
Sorta like Sanford was DeMint’s boy?
As a CONSERVATIVE, it’s time to say, SO F***-ING WHAT?! It was their personal business, it was in the past. There’s no mention of whether she was married at the time. He wasn’t. Right here and now, we need conservatives to stop the tide of evil that is attempting to destroy this nation, and enslave this planet.
Well played. :)
Will Folks pleads guilty to criminal domestic violence
Former gubernatorial spokesman Will Folks has pleaded guilty to criminal domestic violence in a Columbia court.
The 31-year-old Folks was arrested in July and accused of shoving his fiancee, Ashley Smith, into furniture during a heated argument. A week after Folks was arrested, he denied accusations that he shoved her.
Folks received a 30-day suspended sentence, meaning he will avoid jail time as long as he stays out of trouble for the next six months. He also was ordered to attend anger management classes and not to contact his ex-fiance Ashley Smith.
Folks says he hopes his guilty plea shows something about his character. He says he did not want to put his ex-fiancee or her family through a trial that would have exposed private details. He previously had denied the accusations.
Folks has spoken publicly about the case a number of times. But Ashley Smith has remained silent until now, “I think I can understand why victims don’t come forward with these kind of things. Because the process, the procedures that are involved with it make it very intimidating and very scary.”
Smith and Folks were engaged to be married. “When you love someone, you want to believe the best in them. That was the situation for me,” says Smith.
“There are days that it’s hard to accept that I’m not getting married, but I know deep down that I did the right thing.”
“I know deep down he’s sorry what happened. He and I are the only people who know what happened in that room. I know that he is sorry deep down somewhere.”
One of the hardest things for Smith to accept is those who want to place the blame on her, “What did she do to provoke him? What was her roll in this? That’s very, very hard to accept.”
Smith says she believes she’s done the right thing, and is ready to move on “It was important for me not to come forward, and I still to this day, don’t want to say anything ugly or negative. I just want this to be a situation where we both can move forward, and hopefully it won’t have to be in the public eye anymore.”
Folks resigned from the governor’s office August 1st.

Folk's website is a very popular website. I don't know if the Folks’ statement is true, but it does have the ring of credibility.

Come on. She's very good looking and all or part Indian (dot not feather) All that thick black hair......
Yeah we can tell who you liked when you were little.

Sorta, but not quite.
What ?
To be kind, Folks appears to be a POS.
You’re right. DeMint and Sanford were joined together at the political hip for years. No doubt DeMint likely knew of the shenanigans Sanford was doing.
I would bang that like a screen door in a hurricane
