CA Senate Race: Fiorina Up Big? (Hints Fiorina Rocketing FTW)
Weekly Standard ^ | May 24, 2010 | Daniel Halper

Posted on 05/24/2010 3:47:39 PM PDT by red flanker

Can this be for real? From Carly Fiorina's Twitter feed:

@CarlyforCA Breaking news: Fiorina 46%, Campbell 23%, DeVore 14% according to new Survey USA poll. Proof that hard work pays off!

This, I'm told by the Fiorina campaign, was just reported on television on L.A. The last SurveyUSA poll showed Fiorina trailing Campbell 35% to 24%, with DeVore in third at 15%. So, if true, this new poll would represent a huge swing--such a huge swing that I'm curious to see the actual poll.

If it’s worth saying, it’s worth repeating.

Boxer is dead.
Any of the three Republicans can easily beat her.
Campbell is worse than Boxer.
All three are false.
The one person an incumbent can beat right now, at least in California, is a job-killing corporate CEO. If Fiorina is the nominee, then Boxer is very much alive. Boxer can survive against Fiorina. She is less likely to survive against DeVore or Campbell.
Campbell is for repealing 0bamaCare. Boxer would be a vote for filibustering any attempt to repeal it. How is that better?

Campbell is anti-Prop 8, but so is Boxer. He is the same as Boxer on a number of social issues, which is where he falls short for conservatives, but it is totally a misrepresentation to say he is 'worse' than Boxer in any way. He is still fiscally conservative and strongly opposes 0bama's Big Goverment power grab. Republicans are actually quite lucky that all 3 candidates want to repeal 0bamaCare and rollback the 0bama agenda.

They worked on campaigns to defeat Boxer. They have nothing apologize for. Can’t say the same for the CA GOP elites.

That was precisely what did him in. He was closing and ready to win. Just think about such a silly ass charge in today’s politics. Going to a strip club ONCE with his girlfriend and another couple, IIRC. It would be laughable.

Arianna Packard? Let people decide between the opinions of Arianna "Puffington" Packard (someone who apparently spends much of her life attending New York parties) and Craig Barrett who is not a student like Arianna but the former CEO of a company called Intel:

At least Carly was kicked out instead of walking away. I assume that’s why she looks tough from where Sarah sits....

I read both posts, hers and yours.

onyx' post had facts. Yours didn't.

No 'roadmap' required, thank you.

I didn't know that concept came from Buckley, but it's the only thing that makes SENSE.

We have to elect the person who is the most conservative with the best chance of winning.

Otherwise we end up with the leftist.

(Apparently some folks like Barbara Boxer around here.......)

Craig Barrett had the good fortune not to work for Fiorina. Good luck finding any HP alumni who will say anything like that about Carly.

HP always was rated one of the best corporations in America to work for. It was when my friends went to work there. That ceased when Fiorina became CEO. They threw parties when she left.

You are so wrong on so many levels.
Campbell is not a “far-left Republican”.
He more accurately resembles a misguided Libertarian.
He is firmly on the Right. He has socially liberal positions, though.
But that doesn’t put him on “the left”. He would have to be a socialist for that. Left/Right is an econmic thing, get it straight.

As far as Fiorina goes, being a job killing corporate CEO who sent California jobs to India trumps EVERYTHING on the “villains list” in California. Boxer may end up looking incompetent, but Fiorina will be synonymous with “evil” before the election is over. And incompetent beats evil.

A road map wouldn’t help you, ohioWFan. I’ve read your foolishness since before you left for that land of GOP purity, WideAwakes. How’d that work out for all you pilgrims?

I note the banner on this thread: "Congressman Tom McClintock endorses Chuck DeVore, the true Conservative Grassroots Tea Party Candidate to defeat Boxer!"

LOL

What really bothers me, is we get these people who have no clue what a Republican, much less Conservative is for 9/10ths their political career, yet they can’t seem to pull the trigger so we can have some certified red meat on our side.

So we’re stuck with the Campbells, the Fiorinas, the Schwarzeneggers, the MeCains, the Snows, the Collins...

Lefties, grow a pair, buy a set, but for heaven sakes, run for the damned party you wish to represent.

You don’t want to represent our views, and we sure as hell don’t want you to.

Go to hell Fiorina, and take your pet Campbell with you.

I’ve debated a few FReepers here about...Sarah Palin meddling in our primary.

Presumably she endorsed Juan McRINO out of personal indebtedness -- what does she owe FioRINO that would lead her to stab an actual conservative candidate in the back?

(Don't waste keystrokes on the "he can't win" argument -- well of course he can't win if so-called "conservatives" turn on him to boost the RINO.)

Sarah did’t walk away.
The far left kept up with over 2 dozen frivolous law suits, one by one all thrown out.
It was costing her over $500,000 out of pocket of legal fees and time away from Gov. She would still be fighting off the frivolous suits and no time to be gov.

Nice try. the wannaBie supporters must feel left out since your folks
have nothing to say or contribute to the issues.
