How ridiculous is this? Trying to re-write history???? The only ones trying to re-write history are the ones opposing this.
For those who are interested, a little known (to the present age) educator and poet and staunch anti-communist by the name of E. Merrill Root wrote a couple of excellent books on how the communist agenda was being pushed through the education system.
Two excellent studies are:
“Brainwashing in the High Schools”
“Collectivism on the Campus”

The only redeeming value here in Texas to the public schools is FOOTBALL. We have tough mean aggressive football coaches that take your big baby sons and make them suicide killers. WE LOVE THAT!!
Thank you so much. Your response is reasonable and intelligently considered. The problem is that this silly thing is on the Roadrunner home page. That means so many people are seeing it and don’t know any better. I am very upset about this.
US history has been severely re-written. Kids are not taught the facts of history, rather, they are taught emotions of political agendas.
Yeah, we all know about that. The question here is what are we gonna do about it? When I log in to my internet provider and see this garbage, I get very upset. This is outside the educational system. So what do we need to do to combat this?
A Freeper commented that we should erase MLK's middle name also. He should just be refered to in text books as Martin King from now on.
You got that right. Texans are crazy about football. I have a good friend who calls me a Texas Atheist: Someone who doesn’t hunt, fish or watch football. One of these days I’m going to break it to him that I don’t like country music. He’s probably going to turn me in.
I’m with you. We homeschooled our youngest son to graduation. My daughter really wanted to go to high school, so at 16 she got her wish. She’s doing well, and fortunately the years of homeschooling have made her resistant to indoctrination, by liberals and conservatives alike.
We’ve been following the text book debates together, and she’s quick to point out that everyone involved in this text book committee has an agenda, and that no one seems to be particularly interested in the truth.
OK - doesn’t make a lot of sense in this context. Bottom line is, I’m a roadrunner subscriber. When I sign in, this crap comes up. That means a whole lot of other people are having this garbage inflicted on them.

Kids will never be naturally inspired to learn history. Even adults don’t do that. Until this country repeats history, and we currently are, no one will care. I am not being a downer on purpose, it is just human nature to look forward. History taught with an eye of what is currently going on is usually the better history class and gets attention with adults, but mention history to a teenager and you might as well talk about root canals.
The left expropriating and rewriting our history and culture is normal. The culture war only occurs when conservatives try to hold the line, or better yet fight back. We are facing a cultural revolution. Fight back or have your children enslaved. The louder they scream, the better you are doing.
How dare they rewrite the history that we rewrote!!
