Top Obama adviser says ‘no evidence’ that Sestak’s bribe charge is true

Senior adviser to the president David Axelrod said Monday evening that there is “no evidence” that White House officials tried to keep a Democratic congressman from entering the Pennsylvania Senate race by offering him a high-ranking government job.

“When the allegations were made, they were looked into. And there was no evidence of such a thing,” Axelrod said on CNN’s “John King USA.”

Axelrod acknowledged that if White House officials dangled a job in front of Rep. Joe Sestak’s face to keep him away from challenging incumbent Sen. Arlen Specter, that would “constitute a serious breach of the law.”

Axelrod also acknowledged that there were “conversations” involving White House officials and Sestak, but said that those had been “looked at” by White House lawyers and “their conclusion was that it was perfect — the conversations were perfectly appropriate.”

The president’s adviser would not say who was involved in the conversations, but promised: “I don’t think that any questions will be left unanswered on this.”

Okay, I believe he did not have sex with that congressman, not one time, now let him go back to doing the business of the American people.

Oh, I mean he did not offer that congressman a job to quit the race for senate.

Let’s encourage Axelrod and Sestak to fight it out.

I don’t think so. He is not denying that an offer was made just that there is evidence to support the claim of the offer.
Lawyer or Mafia speak.

Right. Who’s lying? Sestak or the WH?

It is true that lying is a prerequisite for any democrat seeking public office. Being gay or having an affair with a person of either sex (no minimum age requirements too) or any kind of animal are definite resume enhancers and add five points in internal party polling.

First Blumenthal, then Axelrod, Seatrak, and of course the bamster. And the hits just keep on comming

Talk about a culture of corruption.

These guys are probably getting smarter after Blago was caught, but it’s the exact same Chicago game.

He’ll probably get some other bribe from the WH to take back his first claim, just say that he misspoke. He misunderstood and/or mischaracterized a conversation someone had with him. He will end up skating through without a scratch to him or 0bama.

“I don’t think that any questions will be left unanswered on this.”

Yeah, they take no questions so they have to provide no answers as usual!

That’s the way I see it. If no offer was made he would have said plainly “that never happened, no offer was made”, instead he says “there is no evidence an offer was made”.

Sounds to me like “we know you was there, but if they don’t got no evidence you was there, they got nothing on you”.

Why would Sestak “lie” about a thing like that?

Must be a conspiracy .

Was Sestak in the United States Navy or was he in the navy of some third-world nation? The reason I ask is the U.S. military pounds it into the heads of everyone in the service and all DoD civilians that they have a legal obligation to report any attempt to bribe them for any reason.

Words of wisdom from the OBartman Administration.

Why would Sestak “lie” about a thing like that?

He had an overwhelming desire to torpedo his career and reputation?

The floor is open to plausible explanations.

We have 2 choices here.

Sestak is a liar and the Administration doesn’t care if a Pubbie get the Senate seat.

OR

The this Administration is as big a liar as the Clinton Administration.

Parsing or not, redefining words to met the moment or not ... somebody scr*ed up and the American people need to realize that and press for answers.

Why would Sestak “lie” about a thing like that?

That's an easy one. Despite the fact that he is a dyed-in-the-wool liberal Dem, he is at least smart enough to know that in this election cycle he has to distance himself from the Obamanaiacs (even though he is one). So by raising this red herring he gets to appear like he is not on the O-team and is an outsider. Odds are it never happened. But it was, thus far, a successful ploy—just ask Arlen Specter.

There are many ways to say something, so that one does not incriminate one’s self, and yet the other person ‘understands’ what you are implying.

Such may have been the contents of the conversation between Sestak and Obama.

I doubt we will ever know what exactly transpired between them anyway.
