There are many ways to say something, so that one does not incriminate one’s self, and yet the other person ‘understands’ what you are implying. Such may have been the contents of the conversation between Sestak and Obama.

Sestak was asked directly if he was offered a job for quitting the race. His unequivocal answer was "yes." So, while your speculation may well be the truth of it, that is not at all what Sestak has said and said more than once.

If Toomey doesn’t exploit the “Sestak is a liar” theme, he’s missing the boat. The White house has denied the offer ever existed, so therefore Sestak must be lying.

There is no way Obama can win this one.

Either Sestak is lying or the allegations are true. There is no third choice.

Why would Sestak want to lie? I can't see any reasonable motive. Indeed, getting into this kind of a fight with the WH would be all downside for him and no upside. Hence, I believe him.

Sestak is a congressman. If congressmen were required to report all offers of bribes or suspected felonies, there wouldn’t be any . . . never mind.

Democrats sometimes say things that are true. They mostly don’t “lie” in that they believe that what they say is true because they are saying it. They say what they want to be true and occasionally it is.
