Sarah Palin's strange, unprofessional and paranoid grudge [Barf Alert]
WASHINGTON POST BLOG ^ | Tuesday May 25, 2010 | David Weigel

Posted on 05/25/2010 7:24:09 PM PDT by Bigtigermike

Sarah Palin took to her Facebook account today to inform her readers that Joe McGinniss, an award-winning reporter and author, had rented the house next door.

I saw Ben Smith flag this earlier today but did not really appreciate how strange and, frankly, immature Palin's post was until I read it.

Palin informs her readers that McGinniss is "overlooking my children’s play area" and "overlooking Piper’s bedroom." Alternately sounding angry and mocking, she refers to "the family’s swimming hole," which at first reference sounds like she's accusing McGinniss of checking out the Palins in their bathing suits, until you realize the family's "swimming hole" is Lake Lucille. And she posts a photo of the space McGinniss is renting, captioning it, "Can I call you Joe?"

Can somebody explain to me how this isn't a despicable thing for Palin to do? She describes McGinniss as the author of "the bizarre anti-Palin administration oil development pieces that resulted in my Department of Natural Resources announcing that his work is the most twisted energy-related yellow journalism they’d ever encountered."

Another way of putting it would be that McGinniss is an investigative journalist who wrote his first best-seller at age 26 and was shopping a book about Alaska and the oil industry when Palin was named John McCain's running mate. And another way of describing those "bizarre" pieces is that no one has ever challenged the facts in them.

Palin, who has an undergraduate degree in journalism, should understand that articles don't become untrue when the subjects don't agree with them.

Has McGinniss gone to an extreme to get a story? Well, we don't have his side yet -- not that this has prevented every other media outlet from typing up Palin's Facebook post like some lost Gospel.....

Exactly right.

IIRC, Joe’s own son told Politico that his dad was waiting for Todd to leave so he could pick up the pieces?

That’s a demented sicko!

Pervert. I bet he has a huge collection of Sarah photos (for his book research of course).

Did you see Glenn Beck when he first interviewed Sarah? Like the Chess Club guy that got a date with the cheerleader. I agree with most of what Glenn says, buthe is in love with that woman. I would not be surprised to hear that he was hiding under this dudes porch with a hatchet to defend his woman. Glenn is entirely right, and entirely insane.

He’s far too thin skinned and narcissistic to give a political opponent anything but grief and nasty words. He’d love to see the reporter hassle her.

Yes, I saw that interview three times. Glenn loves her, you’re right, but I think it’s in the right and proper way.

I am very happy that he’s her good and close friend.

She trusts him or she wouldn’t have called him. I’m certain Todd is close to Glenn too.

Right and he’d love to see the situation explode into something awful and negative for Sarah.

>> Greta is covering it now, but not very seriously.

Sometimes the not-too-serious approach is best.

A creepy situation nonetheless.

Sarah is a journalist as well, and if these so-called journalist can criticize Sarah, it seems fair to me that she can criticize them.  Frankly, I'm tired of politicians from our side wilting in the face of adversity from the liberal media elite.  Folks like Palin, and new NJ Governor Chris Christie, take the fight to the mud slingers.  I love it!

Funny how these yellow journalists think they can trash whoever they want with impunity, but are so pathetic when they get exposed.

Shine the light of truth on them, Sarah!

Yeah, you could be right. Random House had best reassess the situation.

He must be really upset she’s still standing. As the saying goes, she’s living in his head rent free. I just love it when he or Gibbs mention her name. It’s a tip off as to who they fear.

He looks rather frail and white-haired, sixty-eight years old... is there a Mrs. McGuinniss? There's a Joe, Jr., with a pic of his wife, infant and dog.

google up Joe McGuiniss, images--odd spelling of the name. McGuiness more usual.

He's had several bestsellers that were made into movies. This modest house must be a real step down. Wonder if someone could monitor his comings and goings?

Joe McGinniss, Ben Smith and David Weigel appear to have a Palin fetish or something.

But, their interests in having one of their number living immediately next door to her home in Wasilla may have a much more sinister aspect.

As we recall, shortly after the election, when there were still plenty of supernumerary journalists wandering about Wasilla trying to dig up dirt on her SOMEONE tried to burn down a church she used to attend.

That arson attack of a piece with this sort of cooperative stalking by like minded men.

The FBI would do everyone a great service by keeping a close eye on these guys!

Someone should move in next to Dan and write an expose of his most personal behaviors. That might give him an inkling of his own seriously deranged syndrome.

I was thinking that something like this happen to Dan, he probably scream to his mama and the local sheriff to arrest the person for stalking.

Let’s have someone move in next to Katie Couric for 5 months and write a book about her. Palin has had it, they’re now invading her neighborhood. Outrageous.

No doubt surreptitious surveillance will be attempted, but there are countermeasures that work very well. Sarah has probably already had someone install the very best.

I looked at this jerk’s photo, so I guess he’s an adult, which means that she made a grown man whine and cry...lol.

He’s worried that she’s “bullying” the media! I guess he means the same media that’s done little else but bash and trash her and her family for the past two and one half years.

Go Sarah!
