An animal welfare group said Tuesday that a graphic video it secretly recorded shows workers at a dairy farm beating cows with crowbars, stabbing them with pitchforks and punching them in their heads.
The video was recorded in an undercover investigation at Conklin Dairy Farms Inc., said Mercy For Animals, a not-for-profit group that publicizes what it calls cruel practices in the dairy, meat and egg industries and promotes a vegan diet.

After watching the video, please join me in calling the Madison County Sheriff, James Sabin about the PIG beating the defenseless cows in the video.

I don't know anything about the group, Mercy for Animals, if someone wants to dig into who they are please have at it...but please call the authorities about the demonic treatment of the cows in the video.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the mercy for animals people were behind the mistreatment themselves — as a cynical stunt to further their cause (”veganism”).
Farmers are businessmen. You don’t treat your means of production like that, nor do you tolerate such treatment by your employees. Aside from being unnecessary cruelty, it’s not in their own best interest.
And to hell with all of these “animal rights groups”. They can go suck eggs.
meat tenderizer, no big deal.
The owner of the farm is ID’d in one of the sequences. These guys looks like sadists to me. I’d like to think their behavior is unique.
“I wouldnt be surprised if the mercy for animals people were behind the mistreatment themselves...”
Yes, aren’t they in favor of killing off all cattle? These people aren’t wrapped real tight in the first place, I wouldn’t put very much beyond them.
“I wouldnt be surprised if the mercy for animals people were behind the mistreatment themselves as a cynical stunt to further their cause (veganism).”
Interesting point. Quite possible.
I believe the video is unique also and I agree that the guys are sadists, which is why I was asking folks to contact the local Sheriff.
ranchers and farmers usually have a reverence for their animals.....
unbelievable if true...and if true, very sick people.....very sick...
When my husband was a teen, he spent many summers working on one of his uncle’s dairy farm here in, Ohio. I showed the video to my husband and he said he had never seen cows suffer that kind of abuse from farmers. Then he asked me why I had to show him the video. :-(
Most farmers care for their animals and don’t mistreat them, but these sure are horrific examples of what appears to be a culture of brutal abuse. Those farmers who do care about cows should be horrified and demand action be taken, not jump to the defense of the indefensible.
Larger and larger farms with more and more mechanized systems do tend to lessen the bond between farmer and animal—and involve more very low-paid workers who don’t have the same business incentive to well care for the animals either.
Thank you for your post!
>> Those farmers who do care about cows should be horrified and demand action be taken, not jump to the defense of the indefensible.
The matter has already gone to the local prosecutor (who, interestingly, has not brought charges). What more action ought to be taken? Should we drive to Ohio and lynch the farmer, based on a video shot by a group with an axe to grind? What do you recommend?
If the evidence is genuine, then there is really no place in society for people who do this. Calculated and sadistic cruelty to animals, especially this extreme, is a very strong indicator of future calculated and sadistic cruelty to humans.
That people not give a knee-jerk defense denying that the scenes on the video could be or are real.
If you feel compassion for the defenseless cows - flood the local Sheriff’s department with phone calls, call the local paper, call the mayor - or - if you don’t think anything is wrong with the animal cruelty in the video -just forget about it and move on.
I’ve been in ag areas all over the west and midwest and only once have I seen anything near this. That was with a psycho who was also a BIG Republican donor. A neighboring rancher was a muckety muck in the Party and when he got wind of what was going on began refusing donations and essentially kicked the guy out of the Party. Nearly started a range war. The stories filtered out and the sheriff was after the bozo but he died before anything could be done.
>> denying that the scenes on the video could be or are real.
Oh, I’m sure enough that the “scenes on the video are real”.
What I’m not so gullible about is that the perps are employees or owners of the farm, and that the conditions are as the maker of the video would have you believe.
But I guess you have evidence that the video is just exactly what the militant anti-animal-use group says it is. Care to share that evidence? At least, call the prosecutor with your evidence if you don’t want to tell me.
You know I’m all with you about the animal rights groups. I do however have respect for life and I don’t act like an animal myself when dealing with animals. There is no reason to torture cows. I would slaughter a cow in a heart beat (there is nothing in my opinion better than steak). However, I would not gratuitously hurt an animal because I can. There is something wrong with actions like that, I don’t get the whole video.
This group is in favor of vegetarianism and I myself have no interest in a world full of only soybeans and humans. I also understand why some farmers may be wary of suburban and city do-gooders who have no idea of the needs and practical care of thousand-pound-plus animals.
But there is constant price pressure on farmers. They themselves are being culled from the market if they don’t respond to heavy cost pressures in ways that lessen standards of care below what a humane society should accept. Societal standards for humane treatment may be the only bulwark against both aberrant and growing brutality.

“Mercy For Animals” has you right where they want you! Maybe you should send them some money.
Impalement, and head on a pike at the ranch gates.
Oh, yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Have actors sneak in to the farm and pose as farm workers, then go to the authorities and try to have, what, the actors prosecuted for cruelty?
There are psychos hiding out in every profession, and every political party.
In cases such as this video, it is important to weed the psychos out and prosecute them. The ‘anti this-and-that groups’ will always find and film the psychos - then use the film as propaganda for their cause.
We need to rally against the psychos in this video.
Traumatized cows don’t give the maximum abount of milk. That being said, it’s possible that you’ve got some low-end workers who aren’t properly supervised.
I wonder what would happen if someone should “La Migra!” around there ?
Maybe you should calm down, Nervous Tick.
There are people that live to put the hurt on other people or animals. It is often hard for normal people to understand that because they feel no such urges. We need to understand this to be able to deal with it, just like we need to understand the pedophile can no more give up his or her urges to molest than a heterosexual can stop being attracted to the opposite sex.
I favor a devils island approach for the latter, and for animal sadists, perhaps they should be tied on the ground and have the animals trample and kick them.
Tenderizing you’re doing it wrong.
Releasing the video to the AP is good start. The company should be given a couple of days to sort things out before it fires the employees.
Don't forget to capture their faces on camera! LOL
From the video, it did not appear that the workers would understand Spanish. White trash redneck, maybe.
>> I dont get the whole video.
You do realize, don’t you, that this is one sick little bastard doing all of the cruelty? What’s more, it is NOT an “undercover video”. The perp is quite aware that he is being filmed; in several places he positions himself to give a better camera shot of what he is doing.
>> Maybe you should calm down, Nervous Tick.
I’m not exactly the hysterical one here, Sister.
There are at least three people on that video tape mistreating those cows and calves. I stopped counting.
You’re trying too hard...
One guy, three shirts. Even rednecks change their shirts from time to time. Voice is all the same. Build is all the same.
Probably. I don’t like so-called “animal rights groups”.
I agree with you. Animals rights wackos have filmed themselves abusing animals before while blaming others. They release the videos to the MSM who always seem to spread just the story the animal rights type want.
>>Releasing the video to the AP is good start<<
So it can become the rallying cry for every Vegan nutjob in the media? Please.
These are isolated incidents. They are cruel and the people should be prosecuted, but the last thing we need in this country is a national campaign to throw more government regulations on farmers.
Can we say 20.00 a pound beef? 6.00 a gallon milk? Really.
Not that it is impossible, but please provide a reference.
Ok, two guys, including the (alleged) owner.
>>First ask the people in “Mercy for Animals” if they are pro-abortion.<<
Truth be told.
Dismembering human babies in the womb is cruel too.
>> Ok, two guys
Hmmm... one guy to hold the camera, one guy to abuse the cattle. Then switch.
No evidence, just sayin’.
Help me out with the logic: it is ok to abuse animals because we abuse babies? Does that mean that we must all turn vegan if Roe v. Wade is overturned?
This looks like BS or worse to me.
No. Two guys, at minimum. You have the alleged owner kicking that calf in the head, plus the sadist.
Too late. The vid is already on youtube and racking up numbers. They better get to the bottom of this, before it turn into something major. Or finds its way to the islamist recruiters salivating for people just like this.
>>Help me out with the logic: it is ok to abuse animals because we abuse babies?<<
Who exactly said it was okay to abuse animals?
No one here is asking you to become a Vegan. I am asking for those with compassion, to contact the appropriate authorities in that Ohio community to ask that those animals - who are beating the cows in the film - will be prosecute .
You are welcomed to move on to another post that will be less stressful for you.
