Senator Obama is a decent person and a person that you do not have to be scared of as president of the United States. John McCain Oct. 10, 2008, Town Hall in Lakeville, Minn.
U.S. Senator John McCain must be confident Arizona voters have amnesia regarding his approval of Barack Obamas presidential timber. Never mind that Barry Soetoro, aka, Barack Obama had a prolonged record of close associations involving socialists, communists, militants, racist clerics, labor unions, ACORN and the corrupt Chicago political machine reminiscent of Boss Tweeds Tammany Hall. Forget how Senator McCain continues to confer the President a pass as he is fundamentally changing America.
The 2010 election is too important to give any politician a pass including Senator McCain and his progressive congressional record. If we fail to confront our elected leaders or ultimately replace them, our pending personal loss of liberty and the American dream turned nightmare is our responsibility. No doubt the Senator has served the country admirably. We should thank him, and then hold him accountable for obsessively reaching across the senatorial aisle only to compromise our liberty with a larger more omnipresent federal bureaucracy.
In my opinion, the majority of incumbent politicians no longer serve the people, they serve themselves. Many of these professional millionaire jet-setting politicians exempt themselves from the laws they pass and fill their pockets with perks and lifetime pensions. Today politicians have become our modern day version of European royalty. Do they even understand the hard-working people they are supposed to represent? At the recent local Tea Party rally with nearly 2,000 in attendance, John Shadegg, our retiring U.S. Congressman, told the audience he has never been so concerned about the current state of America. I agree.
Illegal Immigration Forget About It: Senator McCain claims in his advertising that he is Arizonas last line of defense. What does that mean? If that line refers to the Arizona-Mexico border I am unconvinced. The Senator has told us that the Federal government has failed to secure the border. Doesnt he understand that he is the Federal government? Remember the McCain-Kennedy Secure America and Orderly Immigration Act, followed by two Comprehensive Immigration Reform Acts? What is Comprehensive Immigration Reform anyway? Is it securing the borders from the annual invasion of one million illegals? Comprehensive is Orwellian newspeak for full amnesty. It is free U.S. citizenship for more than 11-million lawbreaking illegal immigrants.
Your First Amendment Rights Forget About It: McCain-Feingold passed in both Houses of Congress in 2002 and was signed into law by President Bush. Seven years in the making, it was said to be McCain's greatest legislative achievement. The Supreme Court stuck down this anti-Constitutional legislation.
Your Second Amendment Rights Forget About It: John McCain partnered with Americans for Gun Safety in an attempt to close down gun shows. The AGS, with McCain as its poster boy, used post 9/11 scare tactics to convince citizens that terrorists were purchasing large quantities of weapons at gun shows. The NRAs magazine Americas First Freedom noted that according to McCain and AGS, the only safe gun is one that is completely inaccessible to the owner in an emergency.
Cap And Trade Tax Forget About It: McCain and Lieberman co-sponsored the 2003 Climate Stewardship Act that would have introduced a cap and trade system aimed at returning greenhouse gas emissions to 2000 levels. Four years later McCain and Lieberman along with co-sponsor Barack Obama reintroduced the Act two additional times only to fail again.
Keating Five Forget About It: McCain took $112,000 in political contributions from Charles Keatings organization and used his private jets for trips to the Caribbean. McCain met twice with federal regulators regarding the government's investigation of Lincoln Savings and loan. Delaying the seizure of Lincoln Savings and Loan hurt taxpayers and seniors.
Banks, Insurance Companies and Earmarks Forget About It: McCain voted in favor of a taxpayer funded $700 billion bailout plan for big banks and insurance companies in 2008. McCain promised never to vote for earmarks. However, this bailout bill was laden with earmarks, including millions in tax breaks for manufacturers of arrows, wool producers and auto racetrack owners.
U.S. Senator John McCain may have been in the White House today if he attacked Barack Obama in the 2008 presidential race with the same ferocity he is using in his senatorial campaign ads against J.D. Hayworth. Unfortunately, McCain was defeated. Today, McCain has a $26 million campaign fund. J.D. Hayworth has less than $1 million. Yet in what may seem like a contest of inevitability for McCains re-election, the recent Rasmussen poll suggests otherwise. J.D. Hayworth is rapidly gaining on John McCains slim 5-point lead (42 47 percent). Unless Senator John McCain can clarify his progressive legislative actions, my primary vote goes to J.D. Hayworth for U.S. Senate.
I sincerely HOPE that conservatives have learned their lesson from 2008...we cannot allow our candidate to be another McCain. After SB2611, how the hell he ended up on the ballot is incomprehensible.
If John McCain was a democrat I wouldn’t like him, but at least I think he’d be honest.
John McCain is an inconsistent, irrational, unpredictable loose cannon.
The same man who ran such an aggressive campaign to secure the GOP nomination ran a Presidential campaign that eclipsed the mediocrity of Bush I and Bob Dole.
This loser deserves rejection by the Arizona GOP. His opponent is in every way a better candidate.
Like most RINOs, McCain runs in primaries like a conservative Republican, in general elections as a moderate Republican and performs like a liberal Republican in office.
????????????????
John McCain is a duplicitous, back-stabbing, lying sneak. I think the man is mentally unbalanced.
McCain-Feingold, McCain-Kennedy, the gang of 12, etc, etc.
How on earth this liar continually get nominated by the good conservatives of Arizona is beyond me.
I think Arizona is just waking up to that fact, and hopefully they’ll learn by voting for the right man.
EVERY TIME they wake up in the morning and see that obscenity sitting in the Oval Office, they should remember - John McCain helped put him there.
The voters/open primaries did that. Those cities picked a dog and the rest of the states gave up. It puzzles me how we often don’t have a few good conservatives up and running....
It puzzles me why conservatives have so few newspapers of our own. I also don’t understand why we have allowed our schools and colleges to be taken over by leftists.
I attended Rutgers in New Jersey back in the 1960s. The leftists had taken over all the professorships or most of them anyway. I was at the University of Rhode Island in the early 1970s and it seemed that they hadn’t yet reached there in any numbers.
PING
He did in terms of legal votes win in 1960 but correction, Illinois alone would not have give him his victory. There was fraud in all the close states. Illinois and Lyndon Johnson's Texas would have done it. Or Illinois plus NJ and MO.
Funny story, Nixon won Hawaii. It had 3 electoral votes and was irrelevant to Kennedy's electoral majority. But the democrats stole via a recount anyway.
Nixon did largely suck. You'd think based on how much hthe media hated him that he was an ultra-conservative but no he was just the proto-Bush. He was always a moderate Republican.
Speaking of term limits, I remember Arlen Sphincter telling a guy we already have them. You can vote us out in the next election. I still have some hope for the Country. Come on November!
Sorry to say this because at one time I liked McCain, maybe I was too young and stupid then. But I am fiercely opposed to him now.
All he had to do was play the game of what is good for the goose is good for the gander and we would not have Obama in office right now.
When the Senate confirmed that John McCain was a Natural Born Citizen they came to the conclusion that he was because:
“both of his parents were American citizens”
Had McCain really wanted to win, all he had to do was demand that the same rules be applied to Obama and he would have been removed from the race entirely.
We were screwed by allowing this to happen. John McCain undoubtedly knew the yardstick that they judged his status as a Natural Born Citizen by. He also without a doubt knew that Obama’s father was a Kenyan and that Obama himself would not pass the same standard.
It was his DUTY to uphold the constitution and ensure that only a Natural Born Citizen was allowed to hold the highest office in the land. The once proud warrior failed his duty to all of us in not standing up for the law of the land.
He was the only one who could have, no one else could, no one else really has standing to this day.
I suspect though that the problem is not McPain’s amnesia, but the amnesia of the people of AZ. We shall see if they have any simple courage come August.
I think JFK won HI, didn’t he. Nixon won AK.
John McPain would rather than tell the truth, about a Democrat. For Republicans though, he will tell all manner of lies. And dumb Republican primary voters endorse him; the Republican primary voters are in many ways liable for the decline of America.
Should read, John McPain would rather lost than tell the truth about a Democrat.
Nixon’s only “crime” was his anti-communist stance that offended the elected RAT supporters/communists. That’s why Carl Bernstein went after him so hard as Bernstein (and his parents) were lifelong communists. I’ve had a professional relationship with Bernstein and he is a very despicable slime of a character who cannot be trusted.
Nixon was not as anti-communist as the opposition claimed. He agreed to allow communists to have a role in the new South Vietnam government ca. 1973. He also favored socialized welfare and medicine.
I regret that I have only one vote to give to J.D.
