Chet, It’s not the dog.

It’s the owners.

Why does such a disproportionately high percentage of dog abusers chose to own pitbulls?

Attention, Chet! Please pick up the white courtesy phone. There’s a pitbull that needs to talk with you.

Why didn’t you post the story about the three year old girl who got attacked by the sled dog?

Although it goes against your instincts to do this and I would certainly make exceptions depending on the aggressiveness of the dog, stopping the bike can sometimes stop the attack. Many times the dogs are just chasing because you are moving. lol I tested this out one time when it was obvious that I’d never out-pedal these two dogs in the street and ran a bigger risk of wrecking. I stopped the bike and the two dogs stopped and looked at me like, “Fun Suck!” lol

She was a three year-old who entered a dog yard. Why wasn’t she being supervised? There are wolves and bear up there that could have attacked and eaten her.

The f****** parents should have been the ones shot.

The Boxer attack you put up as an example is hardly of the magnitude of a pit bull attack. This from the article.

“Gibbons received dozens of stitches to her arm, where she received deep puncture wounds from the dogs. She also received bite marks on her ankle and finger.”

If this had been pit bulls, she would not have just bite marks and puncture wounds. They would be trying to put her face back on.

Easy now, you're entering dangerous waters by making such a cohesive and rational argument.

What does that have to do with anything?

I mean, I’m sure it’s a great comfort to the woman that she only received multiple bite wounds instead of having her face ripped off, but seriously, why does it matter? She was viciously attacked by dogs that were known to be dangerous, that had put one of her own dogs in the hospital, that had been through the system and were still allowed to return to an obviously incompetent owner, and you think the big deal here is that it might have been worse if it had been pit bulls?

None of these stories were posted to FreeRepublic, presumably because none of these headlines identify the animal’s breed. They’re all just ‘dog attacks’, not nearly as panic-inducing as ‘pitbull attacks’, apparently. Doesn’t it bother you to get played like that?

It's because they have small penii.

It matters in the context of the discussion. As I understand the context, the discussion in not about dog attacks. It is about pit bull attacks. In my view, comparing the boxer attack and a pit bull attack are two different things. The comparison of the woman's injuries is to illustrate the point - it makes no commentary on her injuries.

My view on pit bulls is that they are far more dangerous than other dogs and their attacks much more severe. Yes, it does bother me when people try to say they are all just dog attacks. I think on that you and I agree if I understand your point correctly. To be clear, I am no fan of pit bulls.

If civil discussion wounds you so badly that you need ‘healing’, maybe you should find another topic to keep you busy.

Don't take yourself too seriously. Saying this as politely as I can, you might try a little literary training to better understand the nuances of writing. Not everything is literal.

I see you have a good use of vocabulary. Too bad you use it for ad hominem attack instead of legitimate debate.
