Sarah Palin's next-door neighbor sought out author Joe McGinniss as a tenant, McGinniss's son said.
"No one is stalking anyone," Joe McGinniss, Jr., a novelist whose father is the non-fiction writer, wrote in response to an email from a Palin supporter who confused his email address and his father's. (He shared the email with me.) "A woman was renting her house and sought out the author because the Palins had crossed her (owed her money for renovations she had done at their request and never paid her for). So she knew McGinniss was writing the book and found him and offered him the house."
The neighbor "turned down more lucrative offers from the National Enquirer who wanted the house so they could 'stalk' and take pictures, etc... She said no," he wrote.
McGinniss, Jr. wrote that Palin is "inspiring a lot of hate in people, appealing to so many of people's worst instincts. Sad and scary." And he defended his father's decision to rent the house:

In the light of this statement, it makes it out that someone is lying. Both of these stories cannot be true.
I think it’s time for the Palin’s to move to a more private, secure house and neighborhood.

I read somewhere that they did try and contact the woman who owned the house because they wanted to buy it before something like this happened.
These McGinnises are Massachusetts liberals - - they are likely more interested in little boys.

She made renovations to her own house and expected the Palins to pay for them? She sought out an author in Massachusetts to rent her house in Alaska for a couple of months? She accepted less money than she could have gotten from someone else to rent to this Massachusetts author?
None of this makes any sense. However, it fits into the pattern of MSM attacks on Sarah Palin.
If it’s a rental, this is likely to have been the case.

The insanity is nonstop with the press and their cohorts. I’m just happy to see that Palin is not silent and makes it known to people how they operate. These people are all-out on display with their bias and insanity. They are Palin’s best friends because they are only making her stronger and showing the nature of the enemy of this country.
In an update to a previous column, Ben Smith wrote that the son contacted him and basically said his father was nuts. Now the son is defending his dad. This doesn't pass the smell test.
