Chief of Staff's son marking bar-mitzvah; Ben-Gvir detained for heckling
White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel prayed with his son, who is celebrating his bar-mitzvah, at the Western Wall and inserted a note into its stones on Thursday, after police misled the media into believing Emanuel is on his way to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and heading there. Following the maneuver, Emanuel's security allowed him to join his son at the Western Wall. Earlier, Emanuel and his family toured Jerusalem's Old City, and met with Western Wall Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovitz.
A bar-mitzva celebration for Emanuel's son, Zach, is to take place on Sunday.
Earlier on Thursday, right-wing activist Itamar Ben-Gvir verbally abused Emanuel and his family, as they were walking through the Cardo in Jerusalem's Old City.
Ben-Gvir also yelled at police officers "for shame," and "you won't shut me up!"

Like they would REALLY go to the Holy Sepulcher!!
Anybody hear who they prayed to?
And that is actually a GOOD thing. It is not any of your concern, nor mine, nor the concern of anyone else. It is a private family matter, and should be kept between the family and their Rabbi.
If you were in a position of political power, would you honestly care to have your spiritual adviser talking to the press about your religious practices?
They prayed to Obama...their Messiah!!

His refusal to answer questions is, in itself, enough to put her conversion into question.
If her conversion was not valid, then her children are not Jews, and non-Jewish children do not fly to Israel with their families to have their Bar Mitzvahs.
Looks like a tourist, LOL.
Rahm's Son's Bar Mitzvah Irks Some in Israel
White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel's plan to take his son, Zach, to.....
Yep, he just needs sunglasses, a camera, and perhaps a baseball cap, LOL.
Wow, Rhambo’s out of the country? No wonder they can’t just plug the damn hole!
It’s depressing that Israel would give a not so thinly disguised anti-semite like rahm the deluxe tour.
Bingo!
Yep, many left-wing elitists BS about religion. The worse case of all is Obama and his “Black Liberation Theology” pastor of 20+ years, Jeremiah Wright. Please see my FR Home page for all you’d ever want to know about it (’Liberation Theology’). His new pastor, Tim Wallis, also advocates it.
BTW: Thanks for your service to the country!
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

Protesting prayer is a foolish road to be going down. My opinion only, of course.
For those who are only interested in the political ramifications, ethics be damned, this is a loser. For the right, the religiously intolerant right.
Highly unlikely, Israel recognizes all mainstream conversions done in America, including Reform. You don't have to be an Orthodox convert to make aliyah.
Why would you? This is a purely political intrusion in Rahm's personal life. If the right wing protesters think they're advancing their cause, any cause beyond adding to the stereotype of right wingers as religious nuts, they're mistaken. Honestly, who protests a Bar Mitzvah. On what basis, you don't like dad's politics.
No it isn't, no Rabbi is going to answer questions like that. The questions are properly addressed to his wife.
We are not supposed to question the conversion. But this post is very twisting in my heart right now. I am happy for his son and getting to have his bar Mitzvah in Jerusalem. How can one not be? But Emmanuel and his brother are harming our country. And if they had their way in the middle east, where would the future lucky 13-year-olds get to celebrate their bar Mitzvahs?? Would there be a Kotel? Would we be allowed near it?
I read an extensive article about this a couple years ago that the orthodox rabbis in Israel were taking control of “who’s who.” Evidentally, the authors’ fears were overstated, as they made it sound like it was already a done deal.
