I agree with you, I was just guessing on the conservative side.
No, at least the purposely spilled oil goes away quicker than accidental radiation.
That is a heck of a lot bigger change in society.
I’m not ready to go to lower driving range and no ability to refuel in under 5 minutes.
Add to this mess that Obama has taken over the permits for refineries in TX. I bet he denies some of them permits and closes them down. This is all being done on purpose.
Depends on who “we” are. There are over approximately 3800 offshore drilling rigs in the Gulf, 40 of them deep-seas semi-submersibles like the Deepwater Horizon. There are over 38,000 offshore rigs of all types (fixed, semi-submersible, compliant towers, jack-up towers, tension-leg, platforms and more) all over the world.
There are explosions and disasters happening every year. We just don’t hear about them unless they happen off one of our shores. The Montara platfrom exploded and sank last August off the coast of Western Australia, and caused the greatest environmental disaster in Australian history. It leaked until until November when the leak with finally stopped by pumping mud into it. It got almost no coverage here in the US.
Here’s a site where you can read about them all:

I’ll laugh at the morons who voted for this POS when gas is $5/gal.....
I’m sourrounded by liberals in this county. It would be nice to see them suffer.
