Well, at least he go to announce all was well before the vacation holiday, trust me, folks are now tired of the story and the rest of the coverage will be page 6 news, as far as the media is concerned Obama solved it, and he says night is day and day is night so shall it be written.

They should’ve been allowed to build heavy duty sand berms but the EPA had to look into the environmental impact. This current regime is out of control.

"..the rest of the coverage will be page 6 news,..."

I don't think it will work out that way.

You have typed a lot of words and reasons why we cannot nuke it shut due to treaties and having to refurbish an older mini-nuke ..... Why don’t you ask one of your nuclear friends about this case in particular? Are you in touch with them?
If it could be nuked shut would you do it?

Lets see...you might be in Nevada. Quite far away and detached from this eco-disaster that will turn the Gulf into a lifeless desert like Nevada. Wherever you live, people in that general Gulf area want the pollution to end now and if a nuke will do it then fine. Billions are at stake and so are livelihoods. This eco-disaster can push us further down into a depression in at least the Gulf states

The ocean floor is 5000 ft down. BP then drilled 18000 ft to hit the oil reservoir

Thanks Kabar, but, would you send me a new link? For some reason it isn’t working. I’m really interested in seeing it. Thanks.

“After all of his nuclear non-proliferation crap (as well as the declaration that he would not respond to a nuclear attack in kind), my gut tells me it will be a cold day in hell before he nukes the leak.”

Which is the worst thing in the world that could be. This shows the world that if the Moron in Chief is such a pansy that he can’t use a tactical nuke to prevent a chunk of the FOOD CHAIN and an entire COASTLINE of his country... he certainly wouldn’t use it to protect us.

We are so screwed.

They need to insert a refrigerant coil into the well

The $65,535 question is "how?" ... the oil is blasting from deep down the Earth and is pushing everything out. You shove a hammer (1 sq. inch) into the well and it will be pushed out with 13,000 pounds of force. And that is for each and every square inch of the tool that you introduce into the well.

Besides, there is no access to the bore. If they remove the failed BOP then the flow of oil will increase tenfold, and nobody knows if that would help in fixing the problem. Some people speculate that BP is just doing public performances with long shots, to pass time and appease the public until the two relief wells are completed.

What is the temo of the oil coming out?

180°F was quoted. It's colder than usual, they say.

Hellfire, even the Hay idea would have worked better than this.
