Illegal immigrants Gravitate Toward Arizona Border
By Peter Slevin May 29, 2010 NOGALES, ARIZ. -- Along a rugged stretch of the Mexican border here in southern Arizona, U.S. authorities captured 687 illegal immigrants in a 24-hour period last week, three times the number captured near San Diego. During the past eight months, agents have apprehended 168,000 migrants along this sector of the border.
The border crossers are so determined, and so impervious to a long-running buildup of federal agents and technology, that few here think President Obama's recent decision to dispatch 1,200 National Guard soldiers and $500 million will make much difference.
"I doubt it, frankly," said Don Severe, a vocal opponent of illegal immigration who favors stronger measures, including certain incarceration. "It sounds good, but what are they going to do? We have a very serious problem."
Arizona, home of a controversial new law that makes it a state crime to be in the country illegally, has become the leakiest portion of the nearly 2,000-mile border. The continuing flow of illegal immigrants, compounded by a rise in narcotics traffic and the slaying of an Arizona rancher, perhaps by a border crosser, has triggered a fresh fight over immigration policy, animating activities on both sides of the debate.

But, there are still WAY TOO many illegals here, and a lot of the Mexicans who came here legally are NOT in favor of amnesty.
I am worried there are bumper stickers in Mexico saying, “Will the last one out, turn off the lights.”
May Day Marchers plotting to takeover the USA. Inflicting Third World savagery on US citizens.
I can’t quite believe this. If a million a day cross, and they’ve crossed 365 days a year for ten years, that would be
3,650,000,000 in our country now.
Our population is not that high!
“The million number is how many people cross the border a day; it is not the number of ILLEGAL immigrants”
Oh, I misunderstood that, consider my post above corrected, sort of.
Another favorite is "Occupied America" by Rodolfo Acuna who is a professor of Chicano Studies at California State University in Northridge. "Occupied America," according to the invaders, includes a map of Mexico in 1821 which includes the American Southwest.
Here's a choice quote from "Occupied America." It gives us an idea of material Hispanic students are being exposed to in Arizona public schools: "We are fed up. We are going to do away with the injustice to the Chicano and if the 'gringo' doesn't get out of our way, we will stampede over him."
Another priceless gem: "Gutierrez attacked the gringo establishment angrily at a press conference and called upon Chicanos to "Kill the gringo,' which meant to end white control over Mexicans."
HATE HATE HATE Kill the gringo! Stampede over him! Rise up and overthrow the White oppressor in a bloody Communist insurrection!

Illegal aliens who literally break into America and demand special privileges under the law say thet are oppressed? If so, they sought out "oppression" by coming here. That's like a random stranger breaking into my house in the middle of the night and demanding amnesty (the lawful right to reside on my property) as a reward for his crime.
"Occupied America" according to the invaders includes a map of Mexico in 1821 which includes the American Southwest.
The story of how Mexico lost the region in a war with the Polk administration is recounted from an ethnic chauvinist perspective. From 1821 until 1848, a mere 27 years, the American Southwest was under Mexican sovereignty. From 1848 until 2010, 162 years, the Southwest has belonged to the United States. Mexico never had a compelling claim to the Southwest.
In the 27 years the region was under Mexican rule, Mexico City exercised little control over the area. Local Indian tribes like the Comanches and Pueblo Indians were the true authorities. Few Mexicans lived in Alta California and the Southwest. This is especially true of the Indians and mestizos from Central and Southern Mexico who are predominant among the immigrants who come from that country and make the usual race based claims.
The people of Arizona are under no obligation to subsidize Marxist pedagogues determined to incite violence and racial hatred against them and their descendants. I can't help but wonder why the Far Left groups who are ostensibly committed to fighting "racism" are so quiet about government sponsored racial hatred in American public schools. That disturbing line of inquiry raises more questions than answers.
“Oops - what he did do is BLAME THE U.S. for the gun violence in Mexico. Yes, It’s Americas FAULT and you are a RACIST if you object to ILLEGALS invading our country and sucking us dry financially. “
Obama is making sure many more illegals will get through.
The Far Left hate America AND themselves.
Remember those charming posters of Sheriff Arpaio and Gov. Brewer dressed up as nazis? During the amnesty protests a few years back they had posters of Gov. Schwazennegar and Rep. Sensenbrenner dressed as nazis. How to win friends and influence people...NOT. :{
Isn’t it funny how the reconquistas are playing on our pity one minute then calling us names the next. Is this supposed to accomplish something?
Ping!
That is crossers total; not just illegals. It seems high even at that until you realize that many go back and forth daily and each person is counted each time they cross.
You’re probably right. I know that our local paper always puts the number for our city at 50,000 illegals, but I spoke with a police investigator who told me the number is more like 300,000....6 times what they report!
They can’t wait to move into a country they simply despise!
