Pictures of Prince William Sound/Exxon Valdez oil spill attributed to Obama is not credible.

At a depth of a mile the pressure of the sea water is already 2400 psi so the pressure of the oil squirting out has to be tremendous. I think the possibility of their plan to cut off the damaged oil riser and place a second BOP is wishful thinking.

I agree. He does this continually.

That’s the type of posts he does.

And some people here actually believe/trust his postings.

If Obama were half the politician he thinks he is, he would have been spinning this as the greatest oil find ever, no longer requiring foreign oil, ratcheting up Wall Street to start new investment and promote an oil industry to promote even more advanced modern oil & gas exploration at the hands of US industry.

Instead, he can’t pull his head out of centralized control and decentralized command. Precisely the opposite of any successful management structure of centralized command and decentralized control.

The Gulf of Mexico put the fire out when the rig sank into it.

I have heard alot of excuses that there is nothing Obama could do by going down thee. However, I heard they are now putting golf balls down the pipe. Seems to me that is about all Obama is qualified to do. If he is going to spend so much time hittin golf balls whay not put him on a ship near the leak and let him go at it until the leak is plugged?

One of those photos in a marshy area looks more like sewer sludge than oil washup...

Well the Saudis sure are getting their money's worth out of Soetoro. He is guaranteeing $200/bbl oil for them within the next few months. No drilling on American land. No drilling in American oceans.

What exactly is the Department of Energy's mandate again?

Look at it this way, the WH and BP are restricting the media from the worst hit areas. They are also telling the wildlife rescue people that they can’t give out numbers of animals killed by this.

The suction head would be only the height of the pump above sea level, probably ~20m. You’d likely get a lot of sea with the oil, but that can be separated out, Associated gas would put more strain on the pump than would the suction head.

They have a problem with the natural gas solidifying and plugging the lines. The new method they will be using includes heated seawater to prevent this from occurring. Hopefully this will enable them to collect and pump the oil into ships.

We can convert coal to oil for about $60 per bbl. Further, posted reports on FR indicate the oil field found under North and South Dakota has enough light sweet crude to provide all our oil until the 2400’s at current consumption rates. So we have plenty of oil available. Our mendacious politicians won't let us use it. On the plus side I haven't seen those BP ads that have a bunch of nit wits telling the camera what we need for energy while BP talks about how green they are.

True.

If we used only 20% of the resources that are available without the environmental marxists interference we would not have to import any foreign oil.

It,s not about environmentalism its about advancing statism/marxsim and attacks from the left on our way of life, always has been.

The place where I get oil changes is considering carrying natural gas at about $1.95 per gallon and offering conversions for cars, trucks etc.

The system he is talking about can use either propane or unleaded and is very versatile.

I am not sure but I thought that the two systems were different. Propane can be compressed to a liquid for better storage, CNG is not a liquid and requires more space (larger tanks).

Yep. Socialism, marxism, mendacity and evil. All go hand and hand.

I looked into a propane conversion for my 454 Camaro back in the early eighties. Didn't do it then as the conversion was pretty primitive. I suspect that today's technology could use the standard fuel injection system to good effect with perhaps little more than an injector change and computer recal.

Yeah that's what my mechanic was telling me.

He's little over my head and I asked him about a story I heard years ago when a group tried it and they kept blowing up engines. He said its extremely important to have the regular oil changed when using propane.

I just build fishing rods so he's a little out of my league.
