Good post. People are all up in arms about Obama, but he’s just paint on the front of the machine.
The Clintons were actual leaders of that machine - specifically Hillary (Bill’s been along for the wine, women and song, safe in the knowledge that Hillary neded him as her front).
The absolute biggest political story of the recent election wasn’t Obama - it was the Clinton (not “Chicago”) machine dumping Hillary, about which the media has gone completely silent. This was an extraordinary event, and even Hillary was shocked by it. She ran a coronation campaign, and had Manchurian McCain all ready to throw the election for her.
Obama was going to be her VP.
Then - everything changed.
Don’t think Hillary isn’t going to try a comeback - she’s madder than a hornet (or a hatter), and there’s nothing else on her evil mind then ramming her way into what she was one small step from having.
Given all of that, Bill suddenly serving as a lackey, and Stupak blabbing like a schoolgirl, about something that could provide the seed for impeachment stinks of Hillary’s fingerprints - subtle as a rock.

Thanks for the memories! I, like you, am an original. You recap things very well but I would add the attempt by Clinton to shut down Free Republic with the lawsuits they filled claiming copyright infringement as opposed to fair use. The 9th circus ruled in favor of the Clintons, really the NYTimes, The Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, et al., and it cost Free Republic, really Jim Robinson, $1,000,000 in fines.
As you say, we didn’t come this far just to quit. The enemy is about to push the ball over the goal line and we must stop them. America is behind us. All we need is visible action. Call, write, march, what ever is necessary to get the job done. Else:

He was severely beaten just before her testimony in Chinagate. On a separate occasion, he was killed by a hit and run driver just before her testimony in the Lewinksi case.
The Starr report mentions a 2am phone call from President Clinton to Monica Lewinksi. In the call, Clinton tells Monica 2 pieces of news: Curry’s brother had just been killed and ...Monica was now a witness against Clinton.
Chilling stuff.

IMHO, most normal people do not believe others are capable of lying, manipulation and political crime. They fail to be vigilant; they criticize the messenger. They voted for 0 because “he said he was for change...he said he’d be post-racial...post-partisan”. Just words. FReepers were on to the Toons, and they were on to 0. The Downside Legacy taught us what people are really capable of, and new chapters continue to be written.

Class of 99 but lurked for a long time. I came to know about Ambrose Pritchard’s excellent works before his book. I was stationed in England and read the Telegraph for news. He was writing about the clinton crime legacy long before it was in print in the US. I never believed in conspiracy before the clinton syndicate proved me wrong. If the murder of Vince Foster could be covered up then what else could they do? In short, a lot.
This has Hitlery’s fingerprints ALL over it. I’m willin’ ta’bet real foldin’ money that she challenges BO in 2012.

In the fwiw department, I found FR through the Drudge link in Feb '98. I didn't sign up until Oct '98 because I wasn't sure it was a good idea. I saw what the WH basement was doing to the forum, the visits by federal officials to people's homes, and the flame wars were something to behold (from Ash to Eschoir, etc.).
The great thing about FR is that we are STILL making history. Oh, the democRATs/socialist/liberals/communists want us to go away, but that just ain't going to happen.
