There is only one safe place from an Iranian nuclear strike: Washington DC. They won’t attack their biggest asset.

I have heard that is it not NEARLY enriched enough. Beyond that needed for reactor fuel, yes, but not nearly enough for a fission bomb. Like 20% instead of the 92% needed.

Two tons of weapons grade uranium will make quite a few more weapons than two. “Enriched” may be an exaggeration in this context.

If you saw “Fatman and Little Boy” the core of a weapon is about the size of a cantaloupe. It probably weighs 50-60 lbs.

Yep. While my estimate (of 20) was wrong due to miscalculation, the IAEA's 'error' seems to be more intentional. So it looks like the IAEA has, perhaps inadvertently, revealed that Iran should have the material necessary for 30-40 HIroshima-sized nukes?

But then, given their ambitions, only two would suffice. One to drop on Jerusalem for proof of concept and the other to hold in reserve to threaten any Arab nations who might challenge their supremacy in the Islamic world.

There was a time when Iran could expect retaliation from at least the U.S. if they decided to take out Jerusalem. And that expectation would provide some deterrent. But then that was before Chairman O took the reigns here.

Bear in mind that Jerusalem is just as sacred to Muslims as it is to Jews and Christian. I doubt it will be a target. I would expect Tel-aviv or Haifa to be the target.

“Bear in mind that Jerusalem is just as sacred to Muslims as it is to Jews and Christian. “

True. Especially since 1967. As the following article points out, the claim of the importance of Jerusalem to Islam is raised on a periodic basis through history whenever it suits Islam’s political ends.

While you may be right about Tel-aviv or Haifa, I would not put it past Iran to ‘sacrifice’ the Muslim population of Jerusalem. Once it is destroyed, they will then speak of the defilement of the land by the Jews and return the sacred focus to Mecca.

(But I have to confess, I seriously doubt Jerusalem will be destroyed as it is likely under special protection from the Lord. But then neither did the Jews prior to 70 AD.)

Considering what the Scriptures say about the End of Days, I would say that you’re hunch is correct. Jerusalem will be spared but I wouldn’t hold out much hope for Tel-Aviv or Haifa or Gaza or much of any where else for that matter. This may also be the event that leads to the destruction of Damascus (via Israeli retailiation) as stated in Isaiah 17.

I’ve read that the US has extra ships in the area, that Israel has subs in the area, and now we have the Palestinian stooges of Iranian stooges trying to make Israel look bad in the press.

Now we find that Iran has 2 bombs worth of material.

We have the US & UN trying to force Israel to have a nuclear weapons inspection.

My take is that they all think Israel will act soon. And that is because Israel MUST act soon.

Apparently, they don’t have a clue what Israel will do. It’s just we all think Israel will do something soon. Maybe real soon.

The IAEA has been running interference for Ahmedinejad this whole time while the head of the IAEA - Mohammed El Baradei - was picking up his Nobel Peace Prize.

The Iranians should be asking themselves how many launch-ready nukes Israel has....

Interesting timing. My own theory is that, having blocked Israel from making a conventional attack on Iran via Turkish air-space, the world seems bent on putting Israel in the position of having to use its undeclared nuclear arsenal so that the U.N. can apply pressure to take that arsenal away. Once Israel loses the "Samson Option," the House of Islam thinks that it will be ripe for destruction by a conventional war.

Shalom l'Yerushalayim (Peace to Jerusalem).

Enriched for LWR fuel, TRIGA fuel, PWR fuel, CANDU fuel, nuke bomb fuel?

That's true. "Enriched" doesn't necessarily mean "weapons grade".

Israel has subs in the area,

This may be the Samson option.

Agreed! It looks that Israel is going to have to do something and quickly to stop Iran’s nuclear construction and weapon capabilities. It’s coming, I can feel it in my bones.
