The above statement is worse than anything that has been written on this thread about O and his family. Not to mention it was written to a fellow conservative fighting along side you, grieved about his country going to hell, like yourself.

We are not writing for the nightly news or some major media outlet, we were experiencing some much needed comic relief. Shrinks recommend comedy, which is mostly laughing at ourselves, others, and one screwed up world. It's therapeutic and helps with depression. If it is not for you, that is OK, take a break and find a like minded friend on another thread. Enough threads and Freepers for all.

Conservatives do not personally attack the family members of those they disagree with, that is a tactic of the rabid left. Making fun of someones wife and children for some "comic relief" is immoral and classless. Conservatives, and FReepers, are better than that.

FR is a public forum and every post on FR is subject to being reported on by some major media outlet. It has, of course, happened before. If we are seen as being petty and mean-spirited, we will lose credibility and thereby lose the ability to influence others.

I am sorry you have judged all the comments on this thread as a personal attack on the Obama family. I don't remember anything said about the children except to express concern as their body language was speaking hurt.

O, his wife, and their children are wearing clothes purchased by my, yours, and most of those posting on this thread, tax dollars. That fact takes this into another realm. It is no longer personal, as they represent ‘we the people”. I pay so much in taxes I can't imagine spending what they do on clothing. The tread was about their taste in clothing as our representatives and on our dime. If they don't want to use our money, nor take up the responsibility of PUBLIC OFFICE, then how they dress is a private matter. That is not the case and it is our business.

We have been given no voice as these people destroy our nation bit by bit. Daily we suffer slander and robbery. We are to be silent as they rape and steal our children's future. If we attend a “Tea Party” event or a NRA convention we are labeled terrorists bubbling over with murder, itching to create another Oklahoma City bombing.

So out of frustration some Freepers get together on a thread, one thread out of millions, to crack some jokes about clothes and that our Pres looks a bit gay.

I have been with liberals as they have read Free Republic. Do you know what turns them off the most about our threads? Its not the jokes, actually they laugh at the jokes. It's when we tear into each other, the fighting among ourselves is a big turn off. Why would they want to be a part of a group that does that, as most are already coming out of hell holes.

If you ask most burned out conservatives, Freepers, or those attending church, why they left the group or fellowship, most will say it was because of the infighting. This is one of the biggest reasons we lose elections, we split the ticket. This was important enough for the Lord to say, "They will know us by our love for one another"

I am a Christian, I consider myself to be fairly sensitive to when the Lord is rebuking me, that I am out of line. Frankly I don't feel a "nudge" from the Lord on this.

Looked at all of the photos.....I can't see anything unusual or out of the ordinary.Is there something specific that some posters have a problem with or is it simply a DU type personal attack?

I don't judge your Christianity, conservatism or worthiness. Apparently, however, you have no problem with judging others merely for the type of clothes they are wearing. So be it. I do have a problem, though, with anyone who endorses the posting on this thread that "his family are fair game". Frustrated or not, that is just wrong.

Making comments about a person's clothing or actions when they are representing us is a far cry from judging the individual. The judgment of the individual is to be left to the Lord.

The type of judgment on this thread is the same when we decide to vote either for or against a person seeking public office.

I think the source of the frustration on this particular thread, was the manner in which the Obamas presented themselves in public. Their appearance just seem to scream "I do not care, nor do I respect this office" I believe their attire reflected their actions during their time in the White House.
It is like going on a date with someone to a special place, where you have taken the time to dress nicely, and your date shows up, as one Freeper said, "like they roll out of bed."
